I have the cam on mine and I don't see any difference. I think it is there so the F1 light does not come on.

My sons bike has the same Cobra pipes and no cam and his light came on so we popped the pin out that controls the F1 light and it runs fine.

or you could just eliminate it all together.

depin the main ECU plug #7 and no more SET.:bigthumbsup:
That is what I did with mine. Less weight and more room to boot.

It fools the ECM to thinking that the stock pipes are still on there when placed in the SET valve.

and if you are going with air ride in the future that is right in the way of the compressor.

Just pull the pin and remove the actuator entirely. They eventually stop working even with the cam on them and then you get an FI light anyway. Takes about the same time to pull the pin as it does to install the cam and mount the actuator.
