Just want to thank everyone for your help with my "combo" question of several days ago, it was a great help! I'm installing a Cobra FI2000R on my 2009 M109R, would duck mods on the air covers allow extra air to get in to the engine and help with performance?? Also installing a Gipro So2. Thanks Again!!

If you just do the design on the cover it only allows some cooler air in, but not more of it. If you replace the stock filters with K&N filters then you let more air in.

And it depends on your design. The opening in the back of the box is 2" in diameter, so if the design you have lets more air in than the 2" opening does, you can block the opening and then get nothing but cooler air. But still not more unless you change the filters.

So you need 3 things: More opening in the design than the 2" opening in the back, block the opening in the back, and change to K&N filters. This will give you more air into the engine.

Make sense? :D
