Bought some driving lights from a HD dealership that I am trying to adapt to my R2. The wiring harness was designed as a plug and play for HD applicatons so I am having to modify it a bit to try to get it to work. The instructions that the driving lights come with require you to connect a wire to the low beam lights!? Is this normal or a HD thing? Tried to hook them up without the low beam connection and it doesnt work!?

Anyone out there that has experience with wiring driving lights please provide details of how you hooked yours up. Again, I have an R2 so I don't know if there is a difference from the R1 but if you have any knowhow on this subject please provide.

Thanks!

The wire to the low beam should be a relay. There should be another wire for power and one for ground.

When the low beam in on, the driving lights are on.

This is standard even in cars. Turn your high beams on and you fog lights go out.

If you want them on all the time, connect that wire to the running lights instead of the low beam.

If you want them on their own switch, connect that wire to the switch.
