Hey all 9'er's.
A couple of days ago I went with my brother to do some 1/4 mile times.
We both were first timers and wanted to give it a go.
Well,I was running my slightly modified 9 and my brother had a slightly modified busa.
We both were doing 5 passes.
My best time was 12.1 and 60" 1.8 sec.
My brother went 10.4 and 60" 1.9 sec.

After all they were pretty good numbers, since we both made some mistakes in gear changes and so forth...
At least now,we can only better those times.
By the way I had my V-stream screen on my bike, which slowed me down.
All the best.
Triple J.

12.1 second @ 109mph...........I think that's right at what all the mag. had said the M109R would do.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing this summer. I've never took the bike to the drag strip either, so I'd be a rookie out there as well. I want to see what my bike can do in a controlled environment just for fun.

Yeah,man.
The thing that bothers me,was along with other mistakes I made(Being a rookie),I was using V-sports screen.
My brother reckons,I lost probalbly around .20 seconds, due to wind factor.
Next time I will take the screen off and give it another go.
Hopefully I can go beoynd that magic 12 second bracket.
I know that my bike got 11.5's in her, having 123 hp and 120 lbf torque at the weels.
Yeah,give it a go,it's firsta a little scary,but after a couple of passes,you will enjoy it.
Cheers,
Triple J.

Sounds like you have a good setup with those numbers. It's all in fun anyways but post your new times if you happen to beat your old ones. I'll do the same but it will be at least a month before I'll be able to go myself.

Sure man,I will do so.
Here in Australia we are heading towards winter,so even dropping down in temperature will help.
Although we still have pretty warm down here.
If i don't go under 12 second bracket,I'll kill myself:D

drag strip

I took a few runs down the strip the other night just for fun. I'm all stock and you've got me beat by a half second.

For your first trip to the track, nicely done but I hate to be the bearer of bad news... a 123 Hp bike isn't gonna make 11.5's.... At least not at the track I've been running, unless you have shed a bunch of weight from the bike, and are light as hell your self...

My 9 is 146hp @ 126 ftlbs (Naturally Aspirated)
Last outing at the track

Rt. .258
60' 1.718
330' 4.757
1/8th 7.327 @ 95.60
1000 9.594
1/4 11.541 @ 115.11

Bike is heavy (RC Savage Chrome wheels, etc), and I am about 240lbs in gear.
A stock M109 on this same track runs 12.7's.

My friend who went with me that night has a 9 that makes 134hp to the wheel and he ran
Rt. .599
60' 1.877
330' 5.054
1/8 7.706 @ 92.77
1000 10.031
1/4 12.040 @ 111.56

He's about 250 lbs in gear

will do sir!

what did the G do??

if i had to guess; about 13.75 ish????
14.01 at 102.2 and I still had everything including the spare in it. 13.75 would be doable if I had heated the tires a little more, but I didn't want to roast my brand new Nitto Invo's that I had just spent a grand on.

Yes,I am probably wrong in quessing my bikes cababilities, but judging from her previous runs,it will and should to high 11 sec passes.
Maybe 11,90ish...
I weigh 225 lbs.
Do you think that sports v-stream screen slowed my times?
Anyway, the screen will come off, before I hit the strip again.
You got some serious hp and torque figures in your 9:bigthumbsup:
