I feel that the 240 tire (even though it really makes the bikes LOOKS) really limits the bike in corners.

Thats especially the case on my 07

It feels like the rear tire is sliding out from under you when in a corner.

I run a 250 Elite 3 and love it. When I am cornering hard I try to keep my outside arm (the pushing one) extended, and I counterweight with my outside hip. I can hustle my 9 through twisties pretty quickly, and am still learning and getting completely comfortable with my 9. Taking corners at nearly double the posted limit is enough for me, I don't need to go any faster. But then again this bike wasn't made to go out and run with sport bikes, it will beat the bajezus out of almost any other cruiser on a winding back road though.

The Stock tires are pretty much junk when it comes to performance both in handling and tread life.

I would suggest switching to either the Dunlop Elite 3's or Metzler or Avon's if you want to get some nice handling and with the Elite3's you will also get some increased tread life to boot. (also one of the least expensive replacement tire's available for our bikes!)

:agree:$170 after including installation and dynabeads! Can't even get a metzeler for under $260 that I have seen, and that is before mount and balance (if you don't use dynabeads)

The E3 250 is a full 10" wide and the Metzler ME880 260 is 9 7/8" wide. There's a chart on here somewhere that lists all the widths and heights but I can't find it. I had those dimensions jotted down.

are you still running the stock 240 tire? if so, that is the reason for the feeling you encounter. the stock rubber is crap. get a elite 3 250 or even better yet, get a metz 260 and you will not have that problem anymore.

The 250 elite 3 is actually wider than the 260 metzeler 880.
But it sure does not LOOK wider hahhahahahahahahaha!!!! you keep stating the 250 is bigger as if 1/16th to 1/8th inch is some massive difference,,,

Dunlop POS 250 on the left and a AWESOME Metzeler 260 on the right!
