Every town has a Dead Man's curve,I had a Valkyrie Tourer and could do it @55,my friend had a Valkyrie Interstate and could do it @65.He wasn't a better rider just better bike.I got a Valkyrie Interstate and I could do it @ 65.Then I got the Wing and went to the curve and did 70.I took the 109 their today with 37 miles on her and 75 was a snap.I Bet in a few month 95 could be acheived. This bike can turn.

I'm no Saint on the street but some of the guys I use to ride really fast with starting going to Keith Code's racing school and I saw them going faster and faster in the twisties and then one day they both slowed down and started riding at a safer speed. I asked them why and they both said the street is not for racing, too many variables. Now both these guys have gone down over 100mph on the track and walked away from it and lived to ride another day. I'm not trying to tell you how to ride but if you really want to go fast in the turns I would suggest taking a racing class with some of the pro's and you may find that you have a new outlook on when and where is the right time to practise your skills.

I had a chance to ride with Freddy Spencer (Fast Freddy) and Scott Summers for two weeks. We rode from Pairs France to Frankford Germany and at the end of that trip I had a whole new respect for riding fast on the street and knowing your limits. I just don't want to hear about you checking out early Bro.

By the way I was number three of the fast riders, this guy was number two. He didn't know his limits. :redfaced:

Awesome. That's an experience you don't forget. Too bad that guy did not know his limits. He's lucky all it was was torn jeans and a little rash on his knee.

i low sided my gixxer 750 about 10 years ago in a turn while riding beyond my abilities. i ended up hitting one of those big green utility boxes that are cemented in the ground with my head and shoulder. it uprooted the box (had to pay the city 700 bucks for that bad boy), then i flew a ways up and hit a tree. had to have my shoulder reconstructed, sprained neck, and had some broken ribs and a punctured lung. bike was totalled out. my head was fine due to wearing a helmet.

lessons learned:

1) bikes are pretty baddass animals that will bite you if you don't respect them.
2) a helmet can save your life

it goes without saying that i'm very conscious about where the limits in my skill are now.

Lucky man, are you sure he is not a cat that just used one of his lives?
If I were a cat I should be dead. I have lived through 3 motorcycle incidents one plane crash, etc... I have walked on glass barefoot with not a scratch. Hot coals as well but that hurt pretty bad. O yeah the gun shots too ( they missed and were not firing at us on purpose just heard the bullets whiz by my ear out in FL everglades) I would really have to think and write for a while to get everything.
