Here is a pic of slvr9r with the great idea he had to customizing his v-stream windsheild. Just got my windsheild and I am going to copy his idea. Any guesses on how to prep the windsheild before painting?

I must agree, the finer the grit the better. Do you plan on painting it from the inside so the paint will be protected by the clear sheild???
I think that's the best way.

No I won't. I got a dark tinted windsheild. If I painted the inside, the color wouldn't match due to the tint. I will have 3-4 coats of clear over the paint. I was a little concerned that possibly a plastic primer of some type would be in order?

Very first thing ya want to do is degrease/dewax it. Any contaminants will kill a great paint job....... Sanding before very clean will just drive the crap into the shield.I learned that the hard way......
