I have a 2008 m109r. Recently, the aftermarket clutch cable broke. I replaced it with a new oem one. When accelerating, with rpm exceeding 4000, the rpm goes up but there is very little gain in speed. It feels like the clutch is slipping. I did notice the same issue with the old aftermarket clutch but not to this extent. Now, it is hard to ride the bike. Did anybody have the same issue? Thx in advance.

Sounds like your cable adjustment may be too tight.
Proper adjustment will have quite a bit of slack.
But if you have been riding it like that with the clutch slipping you may need new plates now.

I only put on about 50 miles since I bought the bike. Not sure if someone was riding it like that. I did tighten the clutch cable when I bought the bike. That’s when I started noticing slight slipping. It seems like I need to adjust the clutch now with the new cable. That’s my guess... Thanks for the response.
