Hopefully they just forgot to clean it. That would be my guess, from past experiences with dealerships. Keep us informed.
I just went through the same thing. Picked it up and drove 15 mins home, oil sprayed down the left side of the bike and dripping out of the left air intake. Called dealer and they picked it up. They promised they would correct the issue. Picked it up the next day and same thing all over again. Dealer picked up bike again and this time the service manager performed the work, first draining all the oil again and doing what the others didn't...cleaning the airbox out! Turns out the second time it wasn't overfilled, they just didn't clean the airbox so all the oil just kept flowing out. Really nasty!Lamonster said:Just got off the phone with the dealer and I guess the guy that worked on it did not clean out the airbox so that's why I was still getting oil all over the bike. I guess that's good news but it ticks me off that they didn't do that in the first place and the tech didn't seem like he cared and didn't offer an apology for not checking that even though I asked them to.I told him that if he has that problem again that they really need to cleanout the airbox too, he didn't say anything and left me waiting for a comment. They won't be touching that bike after this.
The guy that sold me the bike now says there have been over 20 cases of this that the rep told him about. Sounds like this is going to be a real headache for Suzuki.
Told me the same thing. Guess checking oil was not part of that school. :-\VZR1800 said:My service guy told me they had to go to school for this bike. Suzuki offered a training course for this bike. I wonder how many dealerships took them up on the offer.

I wish they washed the bike. They didn't even wipe it down when I got it new. :-\VZR1800 said:;D ;D ;D
Plus, it seem like the newer hires do the oil changes and wash the bikes. The supposedly easy stuff.
Lamonster, I'm with you. Did yours have some kind of oily like film on it? And the thing that sucks is that I gave them a two day heads up when I was comming (it rained one day). Do you think that Suzuki has a list of the dealers that attended that training class? And do you know if there is a rating chart on the dealers? I just want to know which butchers to avoid if I truly have a problem.Lamonster said:I wish they washed the bike. They didn't even wipe it down when I got it new. :-\
Didn't have a film out it but it was real dirty, I guess I needed to pay over list to get a clean bike. :-\rynosback said:Lamonster, I'm with you. Did yours have some kind of oily like film on it? It is.TonyRumble said:i only have 300 mile on mine. just saw the oil all over the side. i'm glad i read this forum. i thought it was engine oil.. :redfaced:
I wasn't that pissed as this was the 2nd time it was back for too much oil...I just wanted it fixed. I asked him to do whatever was necessary to make sure I didn't have to come back there again, so he drained all the oil and started new, cleaned the air housing out etc then rode it and checked the oil 3 times totalling about 80 miles. and yes, full tank of gas when I got back. I think since it was the service manager performing the task, he wanted to make sure it was done right.toneout said:So the service manager rode your bike for over 80 miles? Â What's up with that? Couldn't he figure out how much oil was in it without riding it for 80 f'ing miles? I would be pissed. I hope he filled the tank with gas!
