neon!
From my day job-
this is a 60' tall casino sign I designed that we're building right now. They wanted a fire and water theme so the top is flames that will be animated and the lower half below the LED video screen is all a blue neon waterfall.

NICE! Real nice. 60' is big. Is it difficult to keep perspective on sizes like that?
no, not too bad. Sometimes in the design process you lose track of how big things will really look in person once fabricated. A lot of times it's the opposite though. You think "this will be large enough" and then you get it out in it's environment and it could have been much larger. We just finished a 60' sign last week for the Lucky Star casino, this one goes out next week to install and we're building another that is 80' tall to go out in another month. Thank God for the tribes, they're helping us get through this down economy.
This one I think is really gonna be too big, but it's what they wanted. It goes right next to the building which is on the small side. The sign pulls as much power as the casino almost!

I designed one last year that was 150' tall and we were partnered with the guy that built the Stratosphere tower in Vegas. He lives here in Tulsa. The tribe had to put it on hold when they realized a sign that large is really a 15 story building that costs $3.5 million.........

the flame sign is a measly $800k:D
