Hi Ya'll,

Just wonderin what Ya'll think about havin the "Boulavard" logo
on yer tanks over there (well those that havn't taken em off ) ??

I dunno why Suzuki had to got get a freakin brainwave about re-namin
their bikes in the US....well I heard it was sumthin to do with marketing,
to sell jackets, T's and mugs like HD does ;) ;)

I know this is the >109riders< forum...BUT just about all bikes are
classified by their CC size and not CUI...in the US as well !

Over here...thankfully ....... they are still callin the >M109< a M1800
and on the tank it ses Intruder.....which IMHO has got nuthin to do with
an Intruder anyway (for those that know the Suzuki heritage).......the
1800 is the BIG Marauder we have been waitin for (had one for 8yrs) :D

Actually I have still got my Marauder tank badges and I am considering
puttin em on so ses what it's s'posed to say :D

OK I'm gittin of my box...hahaaa

they did it because in america, we praise names and brands, and make our purchases accordingly. in the cruiser motorcycle arena, the harley name reigns supreme. it's an american name, and we've got people to buy into it whether their products are worth the money or not. suzuki is not an american name, boulevard is. they changed to blvd because it doesn't distance them as much from the american mystique. same thing with Star motorcycles from yamaha.

basically they did it because us american consumers are pretty stupid and trendy in general.

I basically agree with what phaed said -- but I also agree with you: "Marauder" is a much better handle for a bike like the M109.

If it came out to 99 cubic inches they probably would of left it cc! It's over 100 cubic inches so we are proud to show it. Live with it.

You nailed it on the head. I can't wait 'til Gucci comes out with a bike. I'm there.

hardleys go by cubic inch......well.....they dont make anything bigger then 102....I may be wrong on that not being a harley expert....jmho
I like an alpha/numerical designation better anyway......some of the names that they come up with for jap bikes were just plain stupid.

No No No, You all got it wrong.
Not Boulevard or Intruder and not even Marauder. HYACRUZA. Yeah. Now that sounds right.
