I am thinking about doing the hydraulic clutch mod. The prevoius owner put aftermarket levers on the bike. So, I would want to replace the brake lever with oem to match if I did the mod.

Suzuki seems to think the black brake lever is worth $100. OEM aftermarket chrome ones can be had for $30. Is there an oem style black option out there? Motion Pro only offers polished aluminum.

Trying to get a grip on my total cost. Having just changed risers and cables, getting the ecu flashed, and needing new tires soon, $$ is a consideration on placing the order.

For something like that, I would just paint them. Use Rustoleum in the right color/sheen and bake it in an oven. I have an old toaster oven that I use just for that purpose, and once they are baked for 20 to 30 minutes, they are close to as tough as a factory finish. You can bake them in a home oven but the wife usually protests a lot. :)

The oem lever probably is worth 100. No such thing as oem aftermarket. Be careful with aftermarket levers, any good aftermarket lever is going to be more than the oem. Try ebay, you may be able to find a nice used oem lever.

I have done the hydraulic clutch mod to my 13 m109r. Much better now for it.

How old is your bike?

I have written a procedure to do it as these suppliers havent a clue.

Happy to upload it.

The hydraulic levers look exactly like the oem ones so you could get them both silver or black. I've seen them on a few sites.

I'l see if I can find

a link.

The bike is a 2017. Original owner purchased late 2018 and put 3,000 miles on it. I bought last September.

Waiting on better weather to arrive so I can get some miles on the new setup before making a decision on the hydraulic kit.
