I had seen a number of the "I hate DLP" posts recently but thought that it must have just been an off day or coincidence, so I ordered an item from them in early April. After not seeing any shipment notices for a couple of days I called to inquire. At that point I was told it would ship in the next 5 business days. 3 Days later I recieved an email letting me know that their current estimate is it might ship by the end of May.

I am fairly fed-up with companies that claim to have items, and then I come to find out that it is in fact out of stock, and could be for some time.

DLP is off my list of vendors for some time.

In this economy I think a lot of small businesses are running there stock very thin. Why have thousands and thousands of dollars just sitting on a shelf. They might be ordering what is needed when they get an order. But then there vendor is doing the same thing. It is a bad domino effect. But if you need a part now, it is always best to call to check to see what they have and then order accordingly. DLP has always gotten what I needed VERY quickly.

On a positive note... I haven't had any issues with DLP and have spent a lot of money with them. Tuesday night I placed an order on-line for the Arlen Ness Big Sucker intakes, called them Wednesday morning to follow-up and they will be on my front porch Friday afternoon. They were great in helping me find the best price on expedited shipping costs.

Thanks DLP

Online ordering...LOL done by phone>>>>

I always call, get a name, check stock while on the phone, then decide if
I want to order the item or not. If my item doesn't ship as agreed, I
cancel my order and get it from someone else.
P.S.-----Always use a credit card to pay and then if theres a question
about the order you can dispute any charges that the company that your
ordering from is trying to charge you.

Know you are in the drivers seat when buying something...not the seller.

DLP recently told me an item would take 3 weeks to ship, to their credit they
gave me good information. So I said thanks and decided to look around some.
I found the item for the same price as DLP and it shipped the next day.

You and people like you are the sole reason why companies get away with crap like this. By your own admission, you were warned, and now your crying about it. All I got to say is....

:a20: :a20: :a20: :a20:

It is like knowing that if your stick your hand in fire your going to get burned and then trying it to see if it really happens.

Again....

:agree: and that's just a fact. I'm not defending them at all. But in my business we are in the same position. We are "drop shipping" more stuff from our suppliers warehouses than ever right now instead of stocking our own warehouse so our lead times for certain products are longer than normal. It's just a money/crappy economy thang.

HOWEVER!!!! Communication, honesty, being upfront, having accurate and up to date advertising with realistic stated lead times IS A MUST!
