Has anyone out there done any mods to there air covers? I had an idea not sure if it would help or cause problems. I was thinking of drilling some holes or notching a small section of the bottom of the chrome cover. This would allow more and cooler air in. Was thinking maybe putting some slots in the front of the cover but didn't know if you would chance sucking up water if you got caught in the rain.

And while we are on this subject has anyone actually done any dyno work to validate the power of what they have done?

Show me the gain on a dyno and I will be all over the mod on my bike.

Haven't done dyno, have done 1/4 mile. Averaged .2 sec faster. Not a ton of increase but a little.

I think once the power commander is out a good gain could be had doing a before and after on an air kit with the AF numbers showing whats going on during the dyno run. I don't think just adding big air is going to net anything without throwing some fuel on it.
