Default Norfolk Va. biker killed Saturday was a shipmate

The guy that has been on the news and was killed in a bike accident on Norview Ave. over the weekend was a shipmate of mine. 22 y/o GSE3 Thomas Voss was an LCAC Deck Mechanic at ACU-4. The ironic thing is that I'm the Command Motorcycle Safety Coordinator and was also on duty as the Command Duty Officer when the accident happened and later when he died. My Deck Mechanic and he were really good friends and he blames himself because he talked Tom into buying the bike (RC-51 and was also his first bike). It appears that it was Toms fault, he was speeding and hit a car. Please send prayers to Toms family and friends...Jason

That is terrible. My condolences to his family. I had lost one of my best sailors (an EN2 who was also a single child to a single parent) to a motorcycle accident. It was really hard to get over, especially for his division, the younger guys really looked up to him.

Sorry to hear about the crash. Hope his family is doing well. I live close to Norview Ave. I heard about the crash neighbors told me all about it I guess he saw it. Its not ur Deck Mech. fault he was speeding down Norview Ave. he needs to talk it easy on his self.
