Default Want to buy a TRE and need suggestions

    Hey guys and gals,

I'm looking at buying a TRE to smooth out the jerky throttle for my new 9 and was curious if ya'll have any suggestions for a good, affordable TRE unit ?

And now my tech question... If I install a TRE, will my gear indicator still show the correct gear when in gears 1-3, or will it be confused and show 4th gear because of the TRE?

    Thanks!

This one preserves the function of the factory Gear Position Indicator.
It is called X-Tre. Atre was for models without Gear Position Indicator....:

Another option is to flash the ECU. Most are going this route these days. A lot more benefits from it as well. Look up BCS in the FB group. He flashed my ECU and several others

That's a good option. My main thing though is I don't want to be without my bike for as long as it takes to flash it. I'll look him up and see where he's at and how long it will take though. How long did it take for him to flash yours, and how hard is it to remove the ECM to get it to him?

He will also send you one for a little extra and you send yours back to him.

Yeah, he quoted me an extra $50 and a "core" fee. Definitely reasonable. I'll likely be doing it in the next week or two. Thanks for all the info everyone!

I would rather flash the ECU than use the xtre. I have a brand new xtre that I had installed for about two hours. The indicator always read the right gear but I felt like the advance on the timing took away from the bottom end of the bike

BCS did my ecu. I am very happy. He received it one day and sent it out to me the next day.
