Default Backlight on tach is out

On my ride this morning I noticed that the backlight on my tach is out, just a grey background. Not really sure where I should start to trouble shoot this. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

YAY, time to upgrade and change out your LEDS to a different color on the tach and speedo. I changed mine from the orange to a blue. So much easier on the eyes and just looks better.

I would start at the connectors/plugs at the tach.
Might be loose, or a pin partually pushed out by
accident when connected last time, and it finally
    it gave up that morning...

Seeing your bike was stored for years,
it could be corosion, I would give all the
    connectors a good look over...

Oh, that would be cool since the bike is blue. Good idea.

I did my own, if you have a soldering iron and some patience you can do your own for about $10.
