Trying to hook up a custom light I made. Here is my problem. I have 3 wires. One is obviously ground. One seems to be the tail light because it's always on. The last wire has me baffled because it's hot at around 11.5 volts until I hit the brake and then it drops to a couple volts. Anyone ever heard of this? Could it be a bad switch? I'm baffled.
Just want to say, I'm a dumbass. I had my brake lever off and was testing the switch with my finger. In putting the lever back on, I discovered it's a normally closed switch that is held down by the lever keeping the circuit open. When you squeeze the lever, it lets off the switch and completes the circuit. I can't believe I spent all that time scratching my head when the answer was so simple. Thanks for your help everyone.
