    Default 2019 M109R - sweet wheels

Richard and I took our weekly ride today and went south to Tampa. We stopped at Tampa Bay PowerSports on 13521 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33613. They have a 2019 M109R in the showroom. The color scheme is quite nice, but the blacked out chrome is not. They also have a 2019 black and red, with black wheels.

    Richard took the photo.

The blue wheels are ok they match the M109 sticker
could use more blue somewhere else on the bike to give
    it more deminsion!

I don't know what it is, but that paint scheme feels like something is missing. It doesn't seem to flow right. Looks sorta amateurish.

You hit it dead on. If I were working with this color scheme, ALL the black would be getting done in blue including the pipes.

WOW! Suzuki really outdid themselves this year! M109R on the tank and Boulevard on the side cover! Big changes :) I'm a fan of blue, but this paint scheme isnt doing it for me. To many colors (gloss black, flat black, white, blue and chrome) they need to keep it consistent with like 3 colors max. Thanks for sharing the picture.

I wouldn’t have the exhaust in a blue color, because it would look too cartoonish. It should remain black. However, some additional subtle touches of blue would certainly enhance the look of the bike, such as a blue speedo cover, blue grab rails/struts, blue Stock Air Intake Covers, and blue control housings. I think those changes would balance out the black and blue throughout the bike.

Oh my god -- it looks awful... 2019 and still no refresh for anything other then paint again 13 years going strong no major updates other then headlight bucket tach relocate... I wonder if they'll ever update it or just put it out to pasture after a few years. Please Suzuki update this bike!!

And that bike in the OP is disgustingly FUGLY! WTF was Suzuki thinking? Award for ugliest color scheme ever?

Sure glad I bought mine in 06.

The more I stare at it, it's starting to grow on me.
Definitely with the solo seat cover on looks better. Maybe drop the back a tad and it may be a winner.

Agree with you on the drop...not sure I'm feeling the white and blue seat.
Sitting on anything white usually doesn't end well...it stays white for like 30 seconds.

Maybe I am old school but I like chrome. To each his own but I have been around long enough to see many "Fads" come and go. Mike and I tried out new Harley bikes last month. The Harley I tried out was totally blacked out. The only thing that was not blacked out were the numbers on the speedometer. The salesman asked me what I thought about the HD after I tried out the bike. I was honest and told him that I thought that the HD bikes have come a long way since the last Harley Fat Boy I had in the mid 90's but I thought that the blacked out look would run it's course and I would be stuck with a bike with no re-sale value. He came back with "Chrome Will Not Get You Back Home" After I looked like I was late to go #2 I said what the hell does that mean? After gathering my thoughts I said you could never afford to convert this bike back to chrome when the blacked out looks dies. He then showed me a great looking 2016 that was chromed out by the previous owner but wanted the same price as a 2019. We all know that you NEVER get back your investment on hop up's.

They can't update anymore, they've copied everything from guys on this forum for years and now that most of those guy are gone what's left for them to do? Their GXSR and Busa kept them in the game for a long time but even those guys were sick of nothing changing. This is the Suzuki way. How can you black out a bike and put a stainless steel/ brushed steel derby cover on it with Chrome turn signals? I love my 9 if I were in the market I'd buy a used one and paint it myself.

That is a very unique look Keith. I’ve never seen that done on an exhaust before. It’s still going to have to grow on me. I think I’m just old school-minded, because I can’t get past the traditional chrome, brushed, or black finishes for exhausts.
