Sorry to miss you guys this year. 2018 was my first MAM and I had to head back home on Wednesday, but had a great time in the short time I could stay. As I posted before, if you can move it up or back a week, I'll be there in 2020 and beyond. CvS (von Leroy)

For those saying it is to far to spend a day driving, well others do it and even 2 days driving/riding. So most would spend driving 6hrs to Staunton and then not ride that evening. So what is the difference of driving 8,9,10hrs and then not riding. I spend 10.5hrs to Staunton. To prove my point, the pics below shows that they want to be here. There is 2 more from KY that rode.
So, again, if you want to be here, then you will be. If you don't want to be, then it is easy to find excuses to not be. The last one makes my point.

Great pics. What’s up with CJ and Rodney standing in the back? Kind of like no one puts baby in the corner.

Looks like everyone but one had a great time. I heard someone went down. Hopefully he's not hurt and the bike can always be repaired

The location isn't the problem with the attendance, or lack of attendance. The issue is whether you want to be there bad enough to come. All that have come to the MAM, have had a ball. Heck, I have been to a total of 4 now. Once on my roush (only for a day), once on my spyder, once on a M109, and once on my Vmax. 2 times were in NC, and 2 times in Va. People are going to choose when and where they go, simple as that. If you want to be there, you will make it happen. Except in cases like Big Mike had, where there may be sickness in the family, or jobs that stand in the way. In those cases, if the MAM was in their back yard, they still wouldn't be able to attend, and it is understandable. Yes, Maggie Valley has some of the best riding in the country. But I know there are other nice places to go as well. I plan on going to be a part of the MAM or the premeet wherever it is located. Next year may be an exception as I might be on my epic, 6 week, cross country adventure. But you can bet that I will be back after that. Enjoyed the time, and loved seeing everyone again.
If I could have changed anything, it would have been for Big Mike's wife's health to have been good, so he could have made it. I know how much my road dog loves to ride and that he would definitely been there if possible. But things happen. Prayers out to you and your other half Big Mike.

This is what my rear tire looks like after 1820 miles of riding. Getting new one put on today.

I read that the VMax has had a problem with this for a long time. Not sure why Yamaha can't fix the issue?

I just dropped this baby off today, and will be taking the bike down on Wednesday. Then I can once again be a member of the fat tire club

Rode down and home. My bike has only be "trailered" once..... and I've got the 112,000+KMS to prove it.
