The obvious tourist traps there are all pretty good. The arch is definitely worth it, but you have to take the ride to the top! Grants Farm, Anheuser-Busch Tour <-- Click the link, The Riverboat Casinos. It is a bit of a drive, but if you are headed to the Ozarks, stop off at Meramec Caverns. If you happen to be heading toward Southern IL, you need to stop off in Metropolis IL and see the giant Superman statue in front of city hall. Lots of Superman / DC Comics memorabilia there. If you need more ideas, let me know. I grew up about 2.5 hours north east of there. (Central Illinois)
If you Scuba Dive, Bonne Terre Mine <-- Click Link, is a must see! (Close to St Louis)
We came from the North East. Heading towards TX again for the winter. We have Grants Farm, Arch and Anheuser-Bush tour on our list. Going to the Zoo tomorrow am as it is the top 4 in the US. Going to some ice cream place and having "concrete", there known for. Went to IMO's pizza today. I like to try the local favorites.
We we stopped at Casey, IL. Very cute town with 9 things that are the biggest in the world.
Ryan - You need to post up a trip report for all of these places you are going to. Give some feed back on what was worth the time and what was a waste of time. Let us live vicariously thru your travels. Might give some of us a destination to ride to on trips of our own if we ever find the time.
Linda posts pics all the time on Facebook. You should friend her. We do see a lot of cool and fun stuff.
I am going to make a thread with 9 riders that I meet on my travels.
