Stavros took my 2007 out a couple of days after I got the 2011 clutch installed and he noticed a big difference

Your dollar will buy you a new clutch easier than ours, let's round it to $1000, that means if you bought the parts here you'd pay 40% less, and if the Suzuki dealer is putting it in, let's shoot from the hip and say $200, this will include new oil, then you pay 40% less again, realy nice holiday to ride up here, have the parts ordered, let someone else do the work while you take it easy on the beach! You may need a new clutch by the time you get here. I'm going to put on another 800-1000 miles before my appointment. I've got some video already posted but I'm not realy riding that hard, I'll try and get more. The videos should be able to tell how the bike is shifting. Hmmm

Lol, very few dealers here with 9's. Have only seen one used 9 for sell at them and it was a stock 07 red one.

I guess to test ride new demo is very seldom allowed. Did you ask?

Yep still in Dallas, TX. I havent found one dealer here to allow test rides on new 9's. Nor a demo day with Suzuki. Had more options for demos back in AZ.

Woo hoo, clutch parts going in on Tuesday! I'm getting a good rain tire as well, Michelin Commander 2 , 240. I don't have a picture of it yet. I'm getting Suzuki to do the work. This one may be for their records, may help all the other poor souls with the older 9 , as this is their first upgrade job. I'll need to give the bike a good cleaning. Really dirty from the cannonball run.

Shall do, I'll try and get some GoPro video with sound of before and after while riding. It's a bit tricky as I have the camera inside my helmet. We shall see what I can get. I'll ask the tech to ride it before and after for his opinion as well.

    From an 06 to a 2011 clutch.

The picture of the push pin looks like it already has the 3 edges ground down. Did it come that way, or did you grind it to have ready for the mechanic?
Also if you can take a video of the clutch side of the engine idling in neutral before and after, I'd be interested in how much less if any the rattling sound is, that I think comes from loose springs in the hub.
    Cheers,
    Dean

Nope, I'll have the old one to play with later.
Ya I do have one posted some place. I can do another one, may be a few days as I'm almost out the door for work. My clutch sound in idle is very clackety. In that video.

If i remember correctly I think the clutch hub was an upgrade that cost abt $300 but check my notes or cross reference the 2007 part # for the clutch hub w/ the 2011 clutch hub part # . - I'm almost all packed up heading back to Toronto on the 22nd.

I checked the part numbers for the Clutch Hub on both the 2007 and 2011 M109R models and the part numbers are not matching therefore there was an upgrade in 2011 . Sent u 2 emails w/ both 2007 and 2011 models of clutch diagrams and matching part #'s

It would be interesting, and for you good comparison 'before and after',

if you record your "clacketing" also while the clutch lever is depressed,

clutch on and then clutch off.. do it before you bring the bike to dealer.

Then to do the same when new clutch guts are installed... Just my suggestion...

Okay, I'm riding to kelowna tomorrow, so I'll get the footage before I head out. I'll let it warm up for about 3 minutes then record.

Now I am starting to see why there might be new part# for the clutch hub. It appears to me that Suzuki improved the "tambourine" sound of the springs in the clutch hub, but size wise it is the same so it accepts newer models 'guts'. Many owners of new and old nines are complaining abut that sound. I was reading here, that even brand new hub was still making too much of that 'tambourine sound". Infamous "Bluey Fix" was only very temporary, so not a real help. So it looks to me that replacement clutch hub is in order, if it is too loud for comfort, and definitely if it looks like this:

Do you see how much the spring wore out the metal plate? I hope that is improved in the new models...

My bike's clutch makes a pretty good racket right now. Quiets down when you pull in the clutch.

At 70,000km, will probably reach 90,000 this year, so might look at installing new clutch and clutch cable at 100,000 just for the heck of it.
As well as fork springs, wheel bearings.

Somehow I failed to hear the difference between 'clutch lever pulled vs. not pulled'

Maybe I need hearing aid, LOL...?
