    Chrome on Pavement = scratches = chrome is gonna peal up the side ..... Just saying and an FYI to all my brothers/sisters

    I've had mine on my 9 since 2009, and I haven't had any sort of issue like that. I could see that happening if someone was dragging the kickstand along the ground for an extended period of time while moving the bike. However, I can't imagine that happening from using the kickstand and positioning it properly.

    Exactly like my pegs. Look pretty for the first 100 feet till the first turn. After that its just getting rid of the excess metal so it will quit making that sound anymore.

    Lol. Don't have the kickstand but definitely sums it up for the pegs.

    I am looking at the short kickstands now and have already accepted that the cleanest and best any chrome will look is right after you install it, after that screw it. Not worth changing my riding style or worry about the little things.

    Lol, I do that now and dont have a short kickstand yet. That method hasnt seemed to work lately.
