Default ACCIDENT WITH MY 9!!(accidentally made it a bagger)

I decided carrying a backpack on a ride long or short just isn't fun anymore and went ahead with getting some hard bags. My tsukayu saddlebags came in after 3 weeks from ordering so i installed them and am going to write a review here incase anyone was thinking about them.

About 3 weeks ago i placed an order for the bags without cutouts for exhaust or turn signals and had them color match it to the 2013 mirra red
The bags alone were $629 paint matching was another $450 and shipping was $60 for a grand total of $1,139

I was told it would take up to 5 weeks to get because of the color matching so 2 weeks early definitely isn't bad.

they came in a decent sized cardboard box and wrapped in foam and all the hardware with the instructions were inside the bags. I gave them a once over and looked good one tiny tiny imperfection in the paint about the size of a ball point pen tip too small to pick up on camera and doubt anyone would notice lol (just being picky)

the instructions are great big pictures and in color making them easy for anyone to install (so i threw them away immediately i don't need no stinkin instructions)

bags went on easy install took about 20 mins if that long. the hardware on the bags are nice and feel like they will hold up and the quick release connectors work great easy on and off they bike they fit nice and decently close to the rear fender and flow nicely with the bike.

after the install i pulled the bike out to the middle of the driveway to get some pics (with an iPhone i know there will be some complainers) and some guy walking by with his dog stopped to tell me the bike looked beautiful. he then asked the question that every 9 owner probably gets sick of hearing
    "what is that a Harley?"

i told him it was a suzuki and he walked around the bike a few times in disbelief and told me

"it's a beautiful bike and that it also looked like a harley"

i just laughed and shook my head and he left

so here is the bad after looking at the bike in all sorts of light to make sure it wasn't some kind of shadow playing tricks on me i noticed that the color wasn't a perfect match its a little bit darker maybe I'm obsessing but i don't know I'm just going to live with it till one day i decide to paint the whole bike a custom color...

feel free to tell me you hate how it looks or love it

I definitely like the size of those bags, better than those puny Zuk leathers. But you're right, the color, to me, in some of those pics look slightly a shade off. Did you give the painters the Colorrite paint code? I haven't had anything done, but I've read with a few of the colors, its hard to get the exact match. Looks overcast in your pics, maybe some sunlight will give a different story. All-in-all me likey

yea i gave them the code but I'm no painter so i can only imagine the difficulty of color matching a bike that isn't next to you

Looks good, would have got it painted locally so they eat it when its not right. Too bad they dont make a decent bagger fender to mate it all up.0

Those look pretty good. 1/2 the price of the Corbins and it looks like they are much bigger. I notice that they sit a little more forward and higher than the corbins. Have you tried them with the back seat and a passenger on? Wondering if they get in the way of the legs for the passenger at all?

    Good job. Looks good

Just put them on today can't comment on passenger leg room looks like they may hit the bags with their shoes maybe one of those clear rock guard stickers would do the trick
1/2 the prices especially if you don't have them color match it and just go with black

I have the same bags...I love them. Yeah the color is off. When I had mine painted locally I gave them the seat cowl for reference. Ran me $280...they're sick bags. I love the 9 slammed.

What size rear tire are you running?

Nice!!!! I like them ...the color does look a little darker but they still look good. I have the Velocity Pro 2 into 1 which has a fat baffle. Do you know if the accommodate different exhaust systems?

They come with a quick disconnect mount for removal according to their site.

My question is would you still be able to put the sissy bar and backrest on?

Even if it required a different bolt or made the bags more permanent I would be willing. Just have to have the bags and the back rest.

Yeah, not digging them. They look ok from the side, but from the back they look bad with the stock fender. If bags are to be put on the 9, they need a fender that matches the bags. Flow dude. Flow.

LOOKS like you can pack enough clothes for a summers vacation. they are ok, I had corbins and were ok.
just could not get use to looks . Compared to all these 109 all custom out , love the look of with out any. some great looking machines.. but bags are a must if you want to get stuff.

I want sure if I would like the bags on it but now that they are on I like them. However I won't have them ever color match again it's not even close to the factory paint kinda pissed that's its $450 for something just close. The factory has a nice sparkle when the sun hits. These are just a gloss. Besides have them reprinted locally I don't really know what else to do

Skip the earlier question. I decided to go ahead and buy the same but with gloss black since the 9 is Sparkle Black. Close enough I am guessing. I figured the mounting hardware is a bracket with a bolt (from the pictures) and a new bolt may be needed to keep the sissy bar and backrest on at the same time. The quick release was not as important to me as the space to carry additional items. They look good and functional. Back in 06' I had the OEM leathers and they just never looked right (too small).

I would complain to Tsukayu, if you gave to them correct Color Rite code and they did not use 'sparkle' you should get at least refund. IMHO
