    Default Registration and insurance papers

How do you carry them on the bike if you don't have bags. I have them in my wallet, but if my wife takes the bike, she doesn't have them unless I remember to give them to her.

I have a small laminated copy in my leather jacket and one under the seat. Never take originals along. I'll also keep one even smaller laminated in wallet. Cops don't mind these smaller versions as long as u show u got it. Well they run ur tag anyway to see if it's active.

One Seattle cop decided to issue me a ticket only time I forgot them home in van. Freaking 800 or so for not having it on me disputed wasted a vac day and won . But lost the day and fuel money traveling to court.

Washington state does not require insurance for motorcycles. how did you get a ticket for that?

Got a Corbin Smuggler. Keep all my papers in there. Along with a few other goodies. Obviously, it does not have to be said, if I have a gun in there, the MAN would know it before I open it since I do have a license for it.

I use the plastic cover that comes with the insurance card. Toss the registration in with it and just sit it on top of battery cover and snap the seat back on.

Sounds like a zip lock bag with the battery it is. I did forget too, I have the Geico app on my phone, but can only show that if I have service.

I am wondering why I have to carry proof of insurance anyway, I just renewed my plates online, the website DOV site was able to check for insurance electronically by the S/N of the bike. Seems that a cop could do the same thing if I was pulled over.

I bought a box of packing list envelopes from the office supply store and keep my paper work in it stuck to the underside of my seat.

I kind of agree with you. Here in Mass, you can't register without an insurance stamp first, and it's on the reg. One card in my wallet...would have to hope a copy would suffice if I was in your position.

Well yes and no to that Dave. When anyone gets stopped his license plate gets run anyway so they know if it's active or not and if ur right full owner. But they can still issue u a ticket for no proof of insurance well at least here in Canada and in Washington from my first hand experience.

Would a photo of the documents on your phone count? I have copies of my doc's on my Note2.

When abroad though I always carry the originals, some of the European countries love on the spot fines..... All done for safety reasons not just to raise cash from tourists.....

Best to check local laws bro, each area has different rules and laws.

i put mine in a zip lock bag in the tool bag under the seat as well. In Tn you just have to show proof card or Geico app. In MS they want to see the card even tho proof is all thats needed.

I like that too Kevin. I know my 74 Honda has one built right in to the bottom of the seat. Must be too much money now for the manufacturers to do that.
