when rmoving the F1 wire from the ecu will that affect anything else and will the ecu think the set valve is working?

first off you are not removing the F1 wire. You remove the SET motor wire so it will not throw a F1 light. It won't make the ecu think the set is working because there is no signal from the SET motor anymore. The F1 light will still work and tell you if something goes wrong. You are just eliminating one component.

Thanks,
Is there a way to disable the SET leaving it fully open without making it difficult to reinstall / reactivate?

Ed
Why would you need to ever reinstall it or reactivate it? But, to answer your question, it actually springs open when you discconect the cables. You could leave it like that but you are going to hate life getting it to work properly in the future. This is why we all eliminate it and never look back.

I keep researching the yank all set valve stuff and pull pin number 7 and all good with rhe fi light. One post says fi light will come on if there is a problem and pulling pin number 7 just removes the set valve part of the system. That is what I want to make sure of as the set valve buddy's. Running about $60 that just plug in and the fi light will stay off also. The advertisement read pulling the pin is not the right way and the fi light will not come on if there is a real engine problem.
