You may be able to find the spike intake on ebay for less than I paid.

Approx $423 or less for the entire setup.. Two different looks for the price of one.

Note: Psycho Moto has 4 sets of Spike Air Cleaner Intake for $179

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzu...ccessories&hash=item2313ff7010#ht_2677wt_1054

That brings the price down to approx $303

Installation instructions and photos courtesy of Scott109:

Note: Rod installation... B goes on the left w/ the B on top and connected to the engine. A goes on the right w/ A on the bottom and connected to the engine. The tip of the A points to the engine.

Got mine today, they are just as good as th epics on ebay. However i still think they are chrome. they are to shiny.

1st Take the tank off (if you use a long allen the tank removal is not required), Remove the filters and fit away.
The first adapet will go straight into the exsisting hole of the rubber grommet .Loosen that clamp right off they are tight as a nuns nasty to push on, lube will help.

Since A and B rods are a tad bit short, you will have to bend the tabs flat on the mounting brackets (this the the pice with the rubber grommet. The tabs are designed to fit between the engine fins but for this install the tabs are not needed.

Place the Second piece on with gasket

you will see one hole has no thread on it, This is for the black rod and use the longest bolt and nut with it ,i bent mine the slightest bit as it was against a hose , And just place the other end of the rod onto the bolt that is already there holding the standard bracket. There is spacers provided but you dont need them.

I took that bracket off and just used that bolt you can see, as the bolt that came with it was to short. the two rods are market A and B, Dont know why, obviously they dont know either or they would have instructions.

On the right hand side mine wasnt able to go into the rubber grommet like the left side did, I just removed that bracket, just fit the Rod the same as the other side.

As Bobby mac said they do not sit equal ,the right sticks out further then the left and more forward,So if your Anal forget about them , if not go buy them they look the goods:bigthumbsup:and for the price you cant go wrong.

will post pics tomorrow was to dark by the time i finished fitting them up.

cheers scott
Had a few people asking about fitting these up.

first picture is the left side see the rod? that bolts to the motor head take out the original mount .

2nd picture same side differant angle
i used the exsisting original mount ,just left it there and pushed the stub into the rubber grommet

now the other side ....same as the other straight into the motor head .

again same pic differant angle this one kept jumping out of the rubber grommet which held the original air filter on so i put a ball of jb weld on the end of the stub after i pushed it through the hole. it aint going anywhere now.it is a bit hard to see here but do the same as the other side and use the bracket , you might need to reshape them a bit to fit also might need to bend the rods a little . just takes time.

Dont forget to get rid of the grub screws holding the actual filter spike on,they are useless as **** on a bull.

i just used a stainless bolt and nut to hold them on.

install help

I had a problem installing these but thanks to MRG, BLESSTHISNINE & jhardy finally figured some things out and some things to try.

1) sense we figured out that we are buying for different vendors do not all parts will go on the same for example the rod on the exhaust side on mine the A is at elbow facing up pointed out on MRG his is under still at elbow but faces motor on other side the B is connected at motor and reads like this (B). you have to figure out what works for you meaning how you want cones positioned I like mine in close to bike.

2) some kits also come with all hardware mine didn't I had to get the 2-40mm 6X1mm bolt that goes thur spacers to motor.

3)the rod on the exhaust side is too short here is solution thanks blessthisnine for this.it drove me crazy I hope it help furture installer.
bend that small tab that sticks between the fins so bracket can be moved backwards to make up for short rod as you see you don't move it much but it's all you need then when you have it all lined up tighten nut on bracket and use blue loc-tight

just a heads up on rain socks was told by a motorcycle mechanic today not to ride with them all the time they will restrict air flow, but not much. they are intended for rain they are small enough to put in tool box compartment so no worry just thought I would add it cause I said I would leave them on all the time, I didn't think it would matter but what do I know :D

It's a trial and error thing. We've tried to find the exact direction and side the rods are supposed to be installed. But there doesn't seem to be an exact setup.. The rods in each kit seem to be a bit different. Remember to flatten out the tab this should allow you to clock the piece just a bit to install the rod. It took me several tries to get it right.

In one of my earlier post I stated how I installed my rods. Let me know if you have any other issues. I did not have to bend either rod.

Note: Rod installation... B goes on the left w/ the B on top and connected to the engine. A goes on the right w/ A on the bottom and connected to the engine. The tip of the A points to the engine.
