Default My first try at an Air Box Mod

This is what I did to mine. I gutted the airbox and smoothed the inside for better flow into the intake transfer pipe. Then I cut masonite to fit snugly into the cavity leaving lots of room underneath. I then cut a hole for the inside area of a auto filter I cut down to fit and sealed with sensor safe silicone. I will be replacing the filters with K&Ns later. Then I took a Cheap 20 dollar Pep Boys Holley 4bbl Velocity stack and cut the salad bowl so it fit inside. I trimed inside and the ring of the stack till it was almost the same height as the stock bowl. then after a good prep with 220 grit I molded it all in with bondo and some paint. I can only tell you that this sounds off when you hit it. It roars. Hope you like it.

    Default Air cleaner

Looks good, way to take the initiative, be inovative, and make something a little different. Q: Did you leave the air inlet on the back side of the air box open? If you sealed it off, you wouldn't draw any warm air in off the engine, but with the large opening on the outside, you're probably not bringing any hot air in from the back side anyways, just curious.

The hole is blocked off. As for the front I will when it stops raining. but it is no wider that the stock salad bowls are. And the sound rocks.

    Default Looks Great!!!!!!

I LOVE THE SHAPE FOR SURE and would us it on my bike if I hadnt already got my SUPER DUCKS intake boxes done . I think you should put some metal screen behind the outer covers to protect the filters .. but keep it up looks great...

Knowing what I do now I should have had ducks do something for me. But it was fun. I do think I will do something with some wire and led's next thanks for the input I am learning on here every day.

I really like it. Also going with the yellow color really sets it off and looks alot better than the chrome IMO. I've got a red bike and I'm thinking of doing the Ducks cover with a custom design and now seeing yours I think I want to paint mine red to match the bike.

Nicely done! Some of your guys are really creative and have the patience to tackle stuff like this that I just don't have.

Coming from you guys and having seen your work that makes me just want to do more. My next one is mid mount pegs. Gotta take the pressure off the back.
