    Great work, looks fabulous.

You'll need to add some red reflectors. Dot requres a minimum surface area of red reflectors to the rear. Otherwise it'll be a very cool looking ticket magnet.

Thanks for the tip. How do the clear ones get away with no red?

I don't think they're guaranteed to be 50 state leagal by themselves. Most of the clear car lenses have some red reflectors still in them.

Is it red reflective surface or just reflective surface? The LE models come stock with a clear lens and no red behind them other than the LEDs when they are lit. I'm not sure they even have a reflective surface when the light is off.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure if our stock red lenses have a reflector in them. I need to check that.

Come to think of it.....I've never ridden behind a 9 to know if the tail light lense is reflective. I just assumed.

Maybe that's why they put a reflector on the back above the licsence plate. So I guess it's the guy's who've debeavered that are ticket bait.
Anyway it's a pretty cool looking paint job you've done there.

    Um...

Yes they do come with red reflectors.

We all just cut them off when we debeaver it.

It seems to me that there are many of us, including me, who could be cited for this.

Get a plate frame with a reflector and you are back to good.

As long as you don't use solid black, most colors are translucent when backlit

Hope your thread doesn't get pulled, I was scolded and threatened for talking about selling/painting tail lights. There's even a sticky dedicated to me on the 4 sale section now

Great Job!! That should look good on a blue or white 9. Are you working on some other colors that would look good on say... the red 9s??

I would love to see the ones you've painted and it shouldn't be a problem cause I don't want to buy one. Share your creativity with us.
