Default NEW IDEA FOR THIS FORUM

SPELL CHECK!!!, holy crap Batman, I just read several post and I could
hardly make out some of the words ( or what they actually wanted to say). It's hard to help or reply if, you can't understand the problem...I
don't want to be difficult, but it would make everyones life easier...Hell,
I use mine all the time

    Some glasses might help Kidding.

There used to be a program you could download to check spellings. But it would never work on my computers. Someone told me about Firefox Browser and it is a billion times better than IE!! It spellchecks everything everywhere all the time.!!!

    Try it you'll love it!

www.iespell.com works pretty good. Macs come with a built in spell checker.

I agree. I've been using Firefox for years. I really can't believe that M$ hasn't implemented a spell checker in IE..........

You are graded, much like you 'grade' other people. If you see someone walk into a store wearing grease soaked rags for clothes, looking like they haven't taken a shower in weeks, what do you think about those people? Or how's about being in line behind someone that has 12 kids, that all appear to be 9 months of age apart, and they pay with food stamps and WIC cards, I'm sure choice thoughts enter your head.

Well guess what? On an internet forum, the only way we can judge you is by your usage of spelling and grammar.

seriously.....who cares about spelling on a msg board. Well someone does cause they started a dam& thread on it. I'll bet the spelling is perfect on this site--> http://www.quiltingboard.com/

    Get over it Mildred

actually the use of all caps in a thread title is even more annoying that speeling or bit&hing about spelling

Buying off the shelf computers is for the birds

My gaming computer was roughly $1200 in parts and is comparable to a $3500 Alienware of the same time frame. I'd hate to see a price tag for an Apple of the time that could compare.

I do have an out of the box laptop though.

Heck, just looking at Best Buy's site now, the cheapest MacBook is $999.99.

To compare it to my $550 Dell:

    MacBook 13.3" Screen
    Dell 15.6" <- 16x9 ratio.

    Mac 2.13ghz Core 2
    Dell 2.16ghz Core 2.

    Mac 2GB DDR2
    Dell 4GB DDR2

    Mac 160GB HD
    Dell 320GB HD

    Both have DVD Burners
    Both have web cams.

    Mac 2 USB ports.
    Dell 3 USB ports.

    Mac battery?
    Dell 9cell upgrade battery.

    Mac PCI-x expansion slot?
    Dell has one.

Here's where the Mac beats my Dell:

    Mac has 802.11N
Dell has 802.11G <-- Fine with me as my router defaults to G due to another G Laptop in the house.

    Mac has bluetooth
Dell none, I didn't care about it. The bluetooth expansion cards are cheap enough on eBay.

    Mac has a Firewire port.
Dell, none.... Do they make firewire devices anymore?

It is nice to see an Apple computer dip below the $1000 mark.... But they still have some major dropping to do, before they are truly competitive and have the ability to seriously compete with PCs.

Back on topic, my Firefox spell checker has a problem with some of the above

Firefox here too. I've got almost every add-on you can get for it, and they have some neat ones.

If you can read what is listed below than you don't need spell check. Just make sure the 1st and last letter of the word is right and you will not have a problem. At least for us "Great Minds" that is

PC fan boys crack me up.

You have a $12k motorcycle and buy thousands in accessories but a $1500 mac is "too expensive"? to get the better computer? hell they come with $2k in free software when you get them

with the PC you get free adware, malware....etc

It may not be the spelling so much as the use (or lack there of) of punctuation and poor grammar. There was a thread that I concluded was about a fellow board member that had been in an accident on his bike, however, when I read the thread title I had no idea what was going on.

    Wreck 9

I was glad to read that the member was ok, even though it was slightly painful to read.
