Ok guys, after all the crap with the CA lights, I figured I would try to change the stock tail light lens. So this is the best step by step I can do. THANK YOU TOMMY80, FOR HOOKING ME UP WITH THE LIGHT... I OWE YA ONE BRO!!
First, get the useless CA light. Seperate the lens using a utility knife, and your hands. Be careful not to break it. You will be using BOTH parts later. Once apart, remove the 6 screws holding the board to the base, and chrome frame. Now you should have 4 pieces. The lens, the LED board, the chrome frame, and the black base. (You wil have to cut the plug off the back to get everything apart.) See picture.
Now the hard part. Get the stock light. When Suzuki put these lens' on, they actually melted them together. So, with that being said, here's what I tried. I used my heat gun to try to get them apart... FAIL. So I tried a a utilityknife... FAIL. So then I got :edit: off, and just started braking the lens off. That worked!!! Once the lens was broke off enough to give me access to the 4 screws, I removed them. Light fixture came off. Be careful not to yank hard, there is a board underneath the fixture that has 2 screws holding it in place. Again, cut the plug that connects to the bike. Make sure you leave enough room to reconnect later.
Now, get the CA base. You will notice that there are 3 "tubes" that the CA board screwed into. Using a pair of side cutters, cut these off. The stock light will not fit properly until removed. Once these are removed, fish the wire through the CA base. Using a piece of double sided tape, tape board to base of light. Then put light fixture in place. Using the 4 bigger screws from the CA light, tighten fixture down (stock screws are too big!).
Test light with 9 volt battery.
Now take your clear/smoked lens and place it over base. Make sure everything lines up well. You may have a few burs to clean up. Once everything lines up well, and everything is secure. Get a clear adheasive (I used clear silicone) and put a good bead on the base. Press lens onto base. I then stretched some rubber bands around whole fixture to keep pressure on fixture.
So, if you ever wondered what color the LED's are under the red lens, they are RED!
I hope that you guys find this informative, and I hope now you can figure out what to do with those CA lights, collecting dust in the shed.
