10 years old and still going strong.
There's another thing to consider.
Recently, after rebuilding my clutch (with all new plates), I found that the clutch was slipping. I removed the exhaust system & clutch cover again...
Well, this will unavoidably come across as sour grapes.
In my view, photos should be judged either by a panel, OR by polling.
Please don't go through the facade of a forum poll when the...
The symptoms of a slipping clutch seem to have disappeared after changing out the Timing Retard Eliminator.
I ran several WOT tests today thru all gears, with no dips in rpm's.
Thank you Trod
Not at all. The rpms drop before I reach red line
I might be experiencing a similar problem.
At WOT I sometimes get a drop in acceleration, as if the clutch is slipping. RPM's drop, and then pick up again. Doesn't happen all...
I hope you found a use for it.
Well, here's what I believe it was:
The radiator cap.
I could tell the knocking noise was 'generally' coming from in the area of the front cylinder. So when I was riding and it started...
All good guesses, by the way.
I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong.
Just want to show how challenging troubleshooting can be.
Here's an interesting one.
Couple of weeks ago I was riding and I started to hear some light squeaking. Not sure where it was coming from.
Over the course of the next few days, it developed...
Control your speed at the top of the hill - not at the bottom.
All vehicles - whether its a 700lb M109, or 3,000lb car - rapidly build up a lot of momentum going downhill.
The idea is to...
No. It doesn't chime.
It doesn't ding.
It doesn't honk.
It doesn't buzz.
It doesn't tinkle.
Not like a ring.
Not like a blam.
Not in a boat.
Yup, still beeping.
At the exact moment that I click it into Neutral with the foot shifter.
It even sounds like its electronically generated, although faint. But regular as clockwork.
I like those mirrors too.
Ideally, I'd have one of each type:
- the Convex one - maybe on the right side - to always be aware of what's driving in your blind spot.
- the Flat one on the other...
I do it to relieve hand tension (holding the clutch handle) while waiting at the light.
I check the status of the traffic behind me before I put it into neutral.
I too have thought that it's a component inside the clutch.
It's such a clear, distinctive beep that it sounds like it was designed that way....
I'm going to see if I can record it - otherwise...
Not like a horn.
More like a chime or ding. Not very loud - subtle in fact - but I think a car pulling up next to me might hear it with his window down.
At first I thought I was imagining it.
But it happens so frequently now, I'm used to it.
The thing is, I can't recall that it was like this when I first got the bike.....
When I decelerate...
Name of the Ride: Sea-To-Sky Highway to Whistler
Nearest Major City: Vancouver, British Columbia
Starting Point: Park Royal Mall on the 'North Shore'
Ending Point: Whistler Village
I'm not sure if this has already been done here, but I thought I'd start a new thread where people can post some of the BEST Rides in their areas, or even just your all-time favorite rides.
For the last 5 years I've seen the some of the best views of our city in the rear view mirror.
While riding on the weekend, I found a quiet road to practice high speed braking.
I try to do it every year in case one day I'll need to do it for real.
Typically get up to 80kph (50mph) and...
Oh, what the heck...
My favorite bike ever! Quirks and all, which gives it character.
I can't think of another bike I'd rather have.
I just picked up this Scott VTD Mesh jacket for summer riding.
600D Polyester fabric. Lightweight. Protective shoulder and elbow pads.
It includes a removable waterproof liner for days when...
I'm looking further out than the immediate, and asking myself, will our kids have jobs and the disposable income to even have the luxury of owning a motorcycle?
If Suzuki goes under, i think the 109 will become a classic.
This is what happens when you destroy middle class.
Disposable income disappears. And tax revenues.
Manufacturing off-shoring kicked things off.
Now underway is the destruction of retail,...
what is that bolt attached to?
