Default Oct 3rd-5th - Las Vegas Bikefest

Well I'm officially signed up and hotel room @ the Plaza Hotel confirmed for the nights of the 3rd and 4th of October to attend Las Vegas Bikefest.

Looking forward to spending time with those that went last year and those that may be joining in this year!

btw. PentaJoe. One or more of my PGR riders are planning on attending with me they ride HD's so let let Mike know he will have HD companionship and wont be too out numbered on our ride down

Edit - Just got home from work a bit ago and still winding down and thinking maybe we can plan a "fun" route home from Vegas as well :)

Why aren't you guys staying the night of the 2nd also? Is there not much going on the morning of the 3rd? I just sent this to my wife and hopefully she'll want to go. I should have a much more comfortable setup for her by October!

Mike, I'll play it by ear and try to make it. I might be in either Australia or Europe that week. Still waiting to see when they schedule the classes I have to teach in those regions. (Our latest product release is conspiring to have me traveling the world during the prime fall riding time. Definitely uncool).

I can register for the bike-fest any time right? I'm not worried about lodging. If I can't get a room at the last minute I can always impose on my baby sister who lives in Vegas.

Is there a site for the Bike Fest? How do you register and what does it cost?
It's looking like I'm gonna have to delay my Vegas trip, so I'm gonna see about scheduling it to coencide with Bike Fest.

Here's the link for ya: http://www.lasvegasbikefest.com/

You'll need to call the hotel/casino to get the rates that they are advertising and let them know that you're coming in for the bikefest.

Also, some of the places are charging $25.00 per bike to park in their secured section of their lot. Kinda high don't ya think, concidering we can get multiple bikes into one spot. Maybe if we get enough people to complain, they'll lower that or better yet waive that fee.

So is everyone going to be heading back on the 5th?
I've had to delay my Vegas trip, and am trying to line it up with the Bikefest. I was thinking of coming down with everyone and then staying after, but now it looks like that's gonna fall through. So I'm gonna see about going down earlier and coming back with the group.
I'm really hoping this works out, I'm excited for my first Bikefest. If only the fates will stop conspiring against me!

Crap. I'm out. One of my international training dates just got inked from September 30 - October 3. I probably won't be able to get a flight out until the 4th so I'd need a private jet to make it back in time for any of the festivities.

While y'all are enjoying the BikeFest I'll be jockeying for armrest position in coach on the 11 hour flight from Paris since my company doesn't spring for Biz Class seats anymore.

Call me a whiner but I'm really not all that excited about France to start with. If I'd wanted a taste of Paris that week I could have just gone down to The Strip. And then I could have gone to Venice, and New York, and...

    Ah well, y'all have fun.

    I'm coming for sure.
Who all is going to be going, just out of curiosity. I still haven't meet most of the group.
Any plans yet on route, meeting time, and place?
    Looking forward to it.

I've been so busy lately I havent even began to think of staging times to head down on Friday..but I hope to hear from PentaJoe and PentaJen on what time they and HD-Mike have planned and then start seeing when people's schedules fall into place....So everyone start posting up what time you would be able to leave the SLC Area......Then we can see who all can ride together or see what might need to be done to get a time that works for the majority of riders....

Well my PGR friends will be coming but they both have to work a bit on Friday so they will be leaving early afternoon so I am currently planning on riding down with the bulk of us in the morning.....I will plan on meeting up with you guys and gals at the Phillips 66 in Payson, exit 248 around 0900 to 0915 that you mentioned.....

Is there anyone from the Salt Lake/Sandy area going besides me?

Sounds good Mike we will meet you then,

We will be 2 bikes/ folks short. Unfortunately the his wife got into an accident with a cager (pulled out in front of her) . She is laid up in Ogden Regional with a cracked skull, broken collar bone, and misc. contusions . She had just bought a 2008 Sporty and it had less than 500 miles on it . Thank God she is alive !

    BE CAREFUL OUT THERE EVERYONE!!

    Joe

Ride it like you stole it, unless the wife is riding along!

I hate to do this but I'm having to cancel. A friend and a relative have passed away and their services are Friday and Saturday to which I will be attending. Please everyone ride safe and have a fun time! I'll just shoot for next year and hopefully we can maybe even catch some of the other rallys together as well like "Thunder In the Rockies" or "Elko" etc...
