I guess what I tell them is getting pretty standard. It's a totally informal affair. I can't help you out with rooms, but I can tell you where we'll be and about what time we'll be doing a couple rides.

Now, I will have to spread the word about blkm109's site so they can order shirts!!

I think I'll order mine first!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, I threw it up on www.vrodforums.com for those guys if they were interested...I figure the more the merrier

Ok everyone... I just got done talking with BlkM109r about the shirt and he brought up a couple of points.

First was his concern that a shirt that says "Damn" on it can be offensive and deemed innappropriate by some, especially around young ones. As a result there are a good few people that would choose not to have it or wear it. Appearently he learned that with the "Does this tire make my ass look fat" shirt.

The second concern was that unless you know the story on "3 Damn days in may" it doesn't make much sense and probably only appeals to a small group of us.

Lastly, since he doesn't make much $ on each shirt selling them through Cafe Press, he needs to sell around 30 shirts to make it worth the time / effort of designing something up. So, we need to come up with something that will appeal to the majority... (As hard as that may be)

So... a couple of ideas I have... how about we drop the "Damn" and just go for 1st Annual "3 Days in May" Run.
We could maybe fit this on the front of the shirt over the left breast area in a smaller font. Then on the back put one of the peg scraper names with a graphic that goes along with that theme... Maybe this will elliminate the offensive concern, and make the shirt interesting to a broader group??

    Your thoughts?

Ute, that sounds good to me. I think we will come really close with the number of shirts. I will pick up a couple for myself and at least 4 of the people from work have shown an interest, I will mention it again and then hard sell it if needed.

or just drop the n from damn and have dam, nothing offensive about a dam. or use dang instead. I don't want to change the whole layout over something as simple as that I think we can cover 30 shirts since most are getting more than 1.

I think dropping the n and making it Dam would mean were riding across a dam somewhere?? Then we'd have to change our route to ride over the Beaver lake dam.... Could also do 3 D*** days in may... but honestly I don't think dropping the word "damn" changes the meaning any... unless I am missing something.

I also think adding some twistie riding/peg dragging ozark mountain image to the shirt helps appeal to the masses. If you count up the votes there were 15 people that voted for some derivitive of mountain peg dragging type of theme. If we can tie it all together (Peg dragging and 3 days in may) I think we have a shirt that is a little more for "Everyone".... I , just trying to find something that works and that the majority will like....

On hitting 30 shirts... I'll be getting 2 shirts myself, and I am sure out of the 4 other people riding with me from here we will get at least another 2...
I think the 30 is definately doable as long as the shirt is "Cool" and general... Not HD or Metric, or VTX, or 109 specific... and not an inside joke that the non 109riders.com people won't get.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback guys... keep it coming!

I'll buy whatever is made. The other day I was wearing my "Does this tire make my ass look fat" shirt at the grocery store. All of a sudden, I heard a woman laughing out loud behind me. I turn around and an upper 50's lower 60's age woman is busting a gut telling me how she loves my shirt. So you never know who will be offended or not offended.

Even in summer! It did require being fastidious about cleanliness though.
Needed to clean and oil it once a week, fired or not, due to body sweat.
In Oklahoma there is no penalty for entering a business with "The Sign" while carrying.

Fig it sounds like we are not only going to have to pack the glocks but also the assault rifles, so we can take on cbxr.

ok here they are ladies and gents:

A few notes/reminders :read:: This is just an example, when you get to the site you can choose from many colors on the shirts and get a preview of each. The splash page pic may show black but there will be other colors to choose from after you click on it. Put up many different styles for men and women. The shirts designated as "dark shirts" can only have printing on the front so those have either the full "back" design or a smaller version to choose from. Sorry, it's a long story for those of you not familiar with the process, but that's all they can do :( For the double sided shirts, they have the same look as the white shirt above. Thanks everybody and i'm sorry i won't be able to be there in person, but maybe this will help make up for that.
Just click on the banner below in my signature to get to the store and click on the "3 Days" section to get there. Check out some of the other stuff while you're there, if it's your first time.

Hey, BLKM109R, I can't thank you enough for taking time out of your schedule to do this for us. This ride has really turned out to be far more than what I had ever imagined, and to now have a shirt just for this ride, well, that's mind blowing. I sincerely appreciate your efforts and wish you could be there. Hopefully I'll get the chance to ride with you sometime later in the summer. Perhaps Bikes, Blues and BBQ??

Now, do I need a long sleeve or a short sleeve for this ride? Maybe one of each just in case!

Definately serious props on the shirt...

As for short or long sleeve... it's a tricky time of year and it could go either way (I was trying to figure that out last night as well).
