Default Pray for my baby :(

I'll be receiving a call shortly from local bike shop this afternoon on transmission diagnostic for my baby girl - 2007 9r. New here not how I wanted to first say hello to you all but... Hello!

Holding thumbs its nothing serious but you must let us know why you having it looked at. Perhaps someone here can give very good advice in order to assist with what's wrong.

Only able to shift down from any gear once. Have to disengage clutch then re-engage to shift down again. Also with clutch engaged after a downshift in any gear (except 5th of course) I can find neutral if I ever so lightly tap upward on the lever (careful to not shift back up a gear) then lightly tap the lever down. Just bought it thinking it would be a simple clutch replacement :/ it's a gorgeous bike though so I don't think I'll part with it either way.

Not 100% but that sorta sounds like the infamous tube nut is starting to come loose. If I were you I would contact the mechanic and have him check that out before he talks about splitting the case for a transmission rebuild!

+1 on tube nut. If it is, then it's an easy fix. Need a special tool to tighten it though. Good luck.

Here she is! Finally figured out how to post a picture lol. Thanks for the support n thoughts dudes! I'm not sure if it's the clutch really? Honestly shifts great even into second is oddly smooth? Better than my 2006 (yes i own two 9rs no wife happy life!) and the clutch in the 06 is brand new! Still have not gotten final word from the shop. I do trust this shop in knowledge and honesty. Counting my change and even thinking of offering my 2000 Honda Shadow toward payment. Will be selling the 2006 though soon and the honda as well if any interest? Keeping the LE!

Great news! They found that the shift link rod was bent and restricting the nut to grab properly literally just bent it back in shape and good to go! New rear tire installed under $350 OTD only charged me $2.50 for the diagnostic and linkage re-shaping? I know it's not much they had to do to but $2.50? They will be having a free lunch next week that's for sure! The rod is still not perfectly straight and likely to be a little weaker I assume? Recommend replacement? Thoughts?
