    Default Amsoil okay?

I've been looking around for new clutches online. Most say not to be used with synthetic oils. I haven't replaced the clutch yet, but was wondering with the stock clutch if synthetic amsoil would be ok to use. Also when I replace my clutch, would synthetic amsoil be okay to use? I really want to use amsoil, but not sure if it would cause more harm than good, and I never want to hurt my 9.

There are several here that run synthetic. I have ran synthetic and dino through mine and I have 42k on the clock and havent had any issues. Just make sure you use what the owners manual says and youll be good. I currently run Valvoline 10W-40. Clutch shifts better out of all I have tried and saves a little $.

I've always used Mobile 1 no issues. I did this weekend though it seems I might have broken a pressure plate spring, as all of a sudden I have much less resistance at the clutch lever than before. I've checked cable lower end return spring so can't really think of anything else it might be. I see some stuff on push pin mod what's that all about anyway??

It gets rid of the clutch shutter, I have 21000 miles now and just started to get a little shutter so I pulled the push pin and ground it down a little. Do a search on it there is a real good step by step on it. It took about 30 mins to pull the cover off and pull the pin because I already had the pipes off to chop 6inches out of them.

    Porter,
Thanks didn't mean to hijack the thread. I've never experience any shutter so don't know if I'll mess with it. What filter do you use? I have 12k on mine never done my own oil change all had it done at shop they use Mobile 1 but I never specified filter want to say it K&N wasn't so lazy I'd go look LOL. Hoping this thing with the clutch is just pressure plate springs I ordered Barnett's to replace the OEM's

I used Amsoil in mine with no problems. Still using it in my new bike. And fyi the stock clutch is the best one out there.

I bet your new bike doesn't shutter, or does it?

Put Amsoil in mine before it hit 1,000 miles. Still occasional shudder but otherwise shifts smooth as buttah.
