Question about Dunlop rear tire

I'm at 3700 miles and need to change my rear tire. I am looking at the Dunlop Elite 3 online and see that they sell it in H rated as well as V rated. Does it matter which one I use? Here is link to the one I am looking to buy. http://www.amazon.com/Dunlop-Elite-T...=240%2F40%2F18 Thanks.

If you decide to go with an E3 front, they only do the 130 in a H rated. It still works with the V rated rear.

Some guys like to peg the speedo...maybe an H rated isn't enough! Only rated to 130mph!

The first time I pegged it, (Don't know actual speed, our speedos suck) I was on a bald-@$$ Metzler! LMAO Pegging it now on a E3 with meat on it seems better no matter what the rating is! I might be talking out my @$$ here but, with a standardized safety factor in the industry, I'm pretty sure that an H rated front is fine for short bursts. When they rate them it's generally for sustained speeds. I have like 2 decent roads that I can even peg my 9 on so I don't see me doing 145-150 sustained. I generally run at 90-95. That keeps me well within the H rating. I am too OCD to mix brands of tires so, my choices are limited.

I have had E3's on my bike for 44 of the 46k miles on it. I have had them up to 146 on the gps. I regular run them up to 100 and have never had one issue.

It is for sustained speeds. From my understanding, it's for one hour. The H is 130mph, V is 149mph, W and Z are astronomical and don't even matter unless you have a Ferrari and travel on the German Auotbahn. Most speed ratings are overkill IMO. Even a T rated tire is good for 118, and how many of us do that?

That's why I run the Cruisemax 160 on the front, it's V rated.

Oh, also, no tax. So I paid 170.00 delivered. On another note, anyone use Cycle Gear to mount your rear tire? I used them on my GSXR 1000 and they did ok for $30.00 but I did have a few scratches on my rims. Plus, I don't like the stick on weights they use. It has been a few years since I used them so hopefully they have updated machinery by now??

The guy at Cycle Gear didn't want to guarantee that he wouldn't mess up a powdercoated 8 1/2 inch rim. he said "He could probalby do it" so I said um, ok, thanks but no thanks. I want to go to a 10" rim this winter so that will even narrow it down more.

Thats kind of what I am expecting from Cycle Gear. There isn't many other options that I am aware of, especially when Cycle Gear only charges 30.00 and the dealer would be at least twice that? I guess I'll give them a shot and hope it works out?
