Default New to Texas and 109

So, I just picked up my '08 109 LE here in San Antonio from Kent Powersports up in Selma, Tx. I was told the bike is ready to go without needing a thing. Not being mechanically inclined, I just did the once over on tires, cables, paint, etc, and it all looked good. I got the bike because I've been digging these for a while and got tired of riding a sport bike.

Well, after reading through all the knowledge here I went and checked my front motor mounts and see they're worn out. I'm considering calling the dealership up and trying to get them to do the replacement since it doesn't seem like an extremely difficult job so I'm curious if anyone has had previous experiences with them? Plus, I don't have a motorcycle lift yet so it's something I need to purchase soon.

I moved back to Texas a little over a year ago and never lived in San Antonio so maybe someone here has dealt with them and knows where to start trying to get this issue resolved.

Thanks. Here's a few pics of the bike

Welcome. I might try approaching the dealership regarding the bike having a vibration. Tell them you have researched it and the motor mounts are the culprit. I suspect that they will do the right thing to have your continued business. Good luck.

That's what I was looking for, thanks! I was trying to think of a way I could wrap it into a problem and that'll do it. I have noticed it has quite a bit of vibration during acceleration but I figure it is just the way the bike rides. I've owned a Triumph Speed Triple so long that I forgot how anything other than triples ride.

Welcome Brad. Everyone is in Nachadoches this weekend. I had a friend change mine. Takes a few hours for the motor mounts. With this bike you will notice a good vibration on acceleration. Just nature of the beast👍

Welcome. Maybe we can ride together one day. Me, Swatcop, and Dre like to go downtown and post up at the Alamo every now and then.

    Anything goes good with beer.

Thanks all. I noticed a lot of the Texas riders were doing a ride this weekend. Next time I'll have to make it out.

I saw this bike a couple weeks ago at the dealership. Looks good. Congrats and welcome. You'll find a lot of good guys here and ready to help someone. PM me if you wanna meet up to ride or trade some ideas.

    &

You don't have to have a lift to do the motor mounts if you have to do them yourself. A lift actually gets in the way. There's also a good how-to on doing them in the How-To section.
The #1 mod you can do to this bike....motor mount how to...

I see the bike still has the tank warning stickers on it too, might want to get those off before the paint changes around them.

Yeah, I looked at that one too. The yellow is in good shape with lower miles but they wanted a high price for it. They got it down to where I was comfortable so I took it. I looked for a while at local 109s and they all seemed to have some sort of issue or priced high. I'm glad I finally got one. Now I'm ready to start the mods.
