    Default Keyless Ignition....next level

Well finally after months of planning and racking my brain looking at wiring diagrams I built my own keyless ignition system and decided I didn't want to carry a fob so being one who loves his gadgets....I went one step further and got a RFID Implant in my hand.

Now I can just jump on and go....haven't been able to find anyone else who's done this and I love a good challenge.

Searched the net, bought the components and away I went. My GP was reluctant to do the implantation but I wore him down.

    Here's the little bugger here....

    Feedback welcome

Very innovative, but your next trip to the Dr. should be to have your head examined! How about some info on the build?

All I can say is wow. I thought it was a joke. The battery dies, you require surgery...hope you thought of everything. It has to be a first!

No battery in the implant for that reason. If the bike needs to go to the shop I have fobs programmed also.
The bike, fobs and implant can be reprogrammed at any time

I also think because of the implant you now are being tracked by GPS if you get lost, your owner can find you!

Default Why Not Put the Module Elsewhere?

I had to read this twice and was almost ready to call BullS!!t . . . but then different strokes for different folks. This personal mod isn't for me. I think I'd have put the module somewhere else . . wallet, cool bracelet, necklace, ball sack . . . aside from the location of the module, it's cool.

Exactly....There's room in there. You prolly could fit at least three RFID chips so you could start all your vehicles and one for the front door of the house. Plus, it would make a nice jingle sound.

My issue with inside the hand would be using a shovel, sledge hammer, jerking it...wouldn't the pressure inside the hand crush or potentially do damage to the chip?

Oh, and of course the other problem of how easy it is to steel that RFID code. All I'd have to do is walk by you with the right app on my Iphone and by by bike. lol

Firstly, the chip can be programmed to open multiple things...yes including the front door.
The chip itself is embedded under tissue not just skin and its solid bioglass which gives it quite a high impact tolerance
To read the code on this chip takes 10 secs of being within an inch or so from chip. The rolling code makes it hard to copy but yes it is possible but I can reprogram chip and bike in seconds which will render any copied tag useless.

I guess it's just like anything, there are always around it but my bike can not be hotwired like stock as there is no longer an ignition barrel but there is a fail safe if something goes wrong

If this isn't BS then I hope you never have to have an MRI

    Default Pretty cool

I think this is pretty cool. Not for me, but I think we will see alot more of this type of thing in the future. I am sure in the not too distant future this will be a trend and we will all look back and say..."hey there was a guy on the M109r forum that did this a couple years ago!"

Any kind of medical scan will not affect the chip nor will the chip affect the equipment or me

That's neat. I wondered what they'd do to get past the security issue. BTw...At my National meetings conference this year we have a tech guru that consults for all the major tech companies. He's presented the last 3 years at 6 conferences I've been to. He did it by walking by someone and grabbed their CC information out of their wallet. - jusayn.

But...Since you have a rolling code That would be interesting, but that means then that you are linked to a satellite? Pharma Sales reps have rolling codes for their computer logins. I agree, it's ingenious, but also means they can be tracked. Our problem as Americans vs. Australians we have to always look out for the more sinister uses once implemented. You should worry about it too, but you are used to a different culture. At least you did it of choice rather than force.
I'm not knocking the tech at all. Modern tech has it's advantages, but it also has it's very evil side if in the wrong hands. We've already seen many an instance of just what can happen today to innocent people in America.

Pretty Awesome...It is going to the next level for sure.
    - I would like to see how you set this up with a reader on the bike
    - So to read the chip, you place the chip an inch away for 10 seconds...is that for unlock or does that actually start the bike?

He means to steal the code.
