    Default Lost the clutch

Well, at least it happened at the END of the riding season...

I'm hoping you guys might be able to give me insight on how bad it might be. I'm HOPING that it's just a broken cable, but I'm starting to suspect not.

I pulled up to a red light. When I eased the clutch back out, it dropped 100% and killed the bike. I was able to hobble it home. The clutch is gone, but yet there is still tension. It felt like it had a LITTLE bit more play in it than usual. So, when I got home I adjusted it at the lever hoping that would solve it, but no dice.

I've had intermittent issues with the shudder problem - maybe this is related?

Since I plan to try tackling it on my own, do any of you have an idea what my winter project list is going to look like?

    Thanks!

That sounds like the issue I had when my tube nut backed off. Check this out, (http://www.m109riders.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=158736) and see if it sounds familiar. Also, there is a great step-by-step out there in post #7 that will help you if that is the problem.

That sounds exactly what I have. Thanks for the post (which I saw has a very nice tutorial!)

I suppose this would be the perfect time to also do the push-pin mod?

I'm no mechanic and the tutorial helped me right through this project. Just make sure you adjust your clutch pin "push pin" once you have it all back together. I missed this and had to remove the pipes and clutch cover again. This project only took about 4 hours.

Yup. I am getting ready to do the push pin mod and replace a few of the internal parts that folks recommend. Good luck to you.

Too bad we don't live closer to each other. We could've used the buddy system.

I know man. I plan on ordering the parts this week. And post up how it went when I'm done.
