    Default Scithe Mirrors

Hi, I'm in the process of buying Kury Scithe Mirrors for my 9, I want to know if these mirrors give you a nice large view like the OEM ones. I like the OEM but want to replace them with something nicer in terms of looks. If not , I will buy mirror extensions and keep the OEM ones. All replies are appreciated and Thanks!!!!

Well, the surface area is smaller, so no, they won't be as large as the stock mirrors. And since the outside is much smaller in comparison to the stockers, you'll have much less coverage there as well.

That being said, I have them, and like them. Even w/ the reduced coverage.

I have had the first edition of these and now the second version. You can see great out of these mirrors have no worries about that. They also look great and the finish is top notch!

Don't you have the much smaller knock off version? The original ones are much larger than your cheap Ebay ones!

I agree 100% with BigB...Btw, I have no problem whatsoever seeing what I need to see with these mirrors. I LOVE THEM. Get them, I don't think you'll be sorry. If you are, they'll sell here, that's for sure.

Just don't forget to get the adapters. I'm surprised no one else mentioned that.

    From Kuryakyn's site

The original Scythe mirror comes with a classic blade stem and the Scythe II has a lower profile smooth stem. All mounting hardware included.

The adapters from them do not have chrome bolts, looks unfinished and doesn't look right if you have everything else chromed. I got Bikemaster 10mm- 8mm adapters with a chrome finish for less than $10.

Maybe, maybe not. It was quoted from their metric section of their website.

I've had both too and my choice would be the Scythe I.
The blade covers the 2 allenheads which are harder to clean the bugs out of.

I've got the Scythe II and have no problems seeing out of them. I've had a couple other sets that you couldn't see out of. The Scythe heads are shorter than OEM but I think they are a little wider, as you have a really good view of the road behind you.

I had to order adapters with mine too. They may make a set for metric bikes that have the adapters included, but mine came with the HD adapters, not the metric ones.

Hi guys, I made my mind up, finally. I went and ordered the Kuryakyn Scithe Mirrors from Dennis Kirk. I ran across a special sale, they sold for $112.50 with free shipping. Adapters for $9.95 for free shipping also. Every where else they were asking more than $130.00.

    Ed Zachary!

with the adapters though you will need to fix them with red loctite or use some epoxy putty in the stem and then put adapter in there. They are so wide, the mirrors will vibrate loose. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN as they are aluminum and will bust and/or strip decently easy. I love mine! I haven't ever thought about going to any other mirror.

The reason why I posted that is, I bought them for 40.00 dollars and they are exactly the same as the Scythe mirrors....I knew I forgot to mention something
