I hate reading stories like this but I'm always glad when the person it happens to is here telling about it. Glad you, your Dad, and the other rider are mostly OK. Heal fast and hope all the bikes can be repaired.

Good to hear your both ok and can ride again when your up for it. Road debris is what took me out for my first time down. Now you can start over on the mods.

Got the claim turned in this morning, waiting to get a call back from the adjuster. Been looking at reviews of dealerships, unfortunately there are only two anywhere near me so my selection on where to take it is limited. I have a good body shop guy but he won't be able to fix the tranny for me so I think I will have to take it to one of these two dealers.

Wish I could have those 3 seconds back, mighta done things a bit different...

Dropped her off at the dealer a few hours ago, not easy to turn my bike over to a bunch of guys to mess with, but insurance would make fixing it myself a pain in the ass.

Should know by Monday what the damage is.
    Screwed up fork.

Mostly concerned about the fork and tranny. We shall see.

Well, got a call from the dealer yesterday...

It's all over. She has a broken neck and has to be put down.

I can't fricken believe some of the prices for parts to fix this thing! The estimate came to $16,000, $14,500 of it was parts!!!

Ya know those chrome bits below the headlight that hold the turn signals... Yeah... $230 a piece! Plus another $90 a piece for the stock turn signals!

Anyway. Between the bent fork, the supposed dent in the tank (that I can't find) and the tranny it was all over. The icing on the cake was one of the bump stops on the frame is broken off and the "welds have been compromised in the neck". Frame is $4,200.

So now just waiting on an offer from the insurance company. Hope that all goes well.

A brand new one is cheaper...goes to show how much profit there is out there.

Exactly. That is what I said to the service manager last night when I was picking it up. How in the hell can a few body parts and a fork cost $4k more than an entire bike?!?! Seems like quite the racket they have going on.
