Default OK need advice on which cobra fuel management to get....

Ok just got back from the shop where my bike is being repaired due to me going done after meeting some sugar sand in the middle of a turn.

My question is this... I know our bikes are a little on the lean side from the factory and as my exhaust is being replaced with Vance & Hines big shots i was wondering which cobra fuel management will work with my setup. It is a 2011 stock except for the new exhaust that is being put on it. I do plan on doing an intake upgrade down the road. I'm still new to upgrading motorcycles and what is needed so as not to grenade my engine.

Keep in mind that she is under factory warranty so the exhaust, intake, fuel management will be the only upgrades until the warranty expires.

There will be some controversy, BUT the Cobra Powerpro is probably your best bet.
This is especially true if you plan on changing the intakes.

Let the "OTHERS" make their statement now.

I like the Cobra Powerpro but that is a little out of my budget $$$ wise. I'm leaning towards the Fi2000R, any thoughts on this one? I like that is has oem connections so im not hacking into the harness. I'd eventually step up to the Powerpro at a later date though.

This subject has been beat to death. Have you searched it? That's most likely why you've had little response.

Bikergranny and I both ran that unit before the power pro. It does well once you dial it in. We ran it for many miles with full exhaust and intakes averaged 42mpg. We are getting about 43 now with the power pro and much better response through out the rpm but you will not be disappointed. I just saw one for a great price in the forsale section earlier today...brand new. Just make sure, from the seller, that it is the true plug and play version.

Just finished test ride after installing new fi2000r. There's heaps of posts on here as to which is best suited to you and some awesome install how to's. Gotta say what a huge difference the fi2000 has made!
200 kph still pulling in 4th... Anyone know what it will do flat out? I haven't the testicular fortitude to find out haha. Left the settings at 1-3-2.

my bike did 130 topped out at factory configuration, then would just flatline(drop off),now with my xtre and other things ive done i have taken it past 130,not by much, but now i know it should pull hard to the top gearing limit which i believe is 150,,, on fuel management.

130 isn't fast enough? 100 scared the crap out of me and i'll never do it again...to each his own, but no power adders needed for this dude.

Can't go wrong with fi2000r if don't have cash for power pro at this time. I have the PCV & love it once they got the connections soldered as after a while they would Frey & bike would then run like crap. The only problem with my fuel mgt system I'd you need to Dyno after adding or taking away exhaust, breathers, etc. $$$
When I get some extra funds, the power pro, is what I am looking at. Just for the hassle free operation.
    Good luck.

It'll hit about 152 if you're not heavy. I've only pegged it a few times and it's certainly addicting but not much fun get blown around lol.

    Well hello old thread. lol

I took a little ride this morning before work to test out the new mods. when i drove it home the other day i was in a hurry and didn't have anytime to try some stuff out. So i went out and rode a few of my favorite quiet roads and tried a few things. I have to say with the V&H bigshots and the fi2000r it is a different bike. Im still in the break in period so im limited by my rpms for a few more miles before i open her up. With just the limited rpms i can run it feels a lot smoother with a solid power band. I no longer have low speed jerkiness issues with the throttle; i think the iso grips help with this as well due to them having a little more slack than the stock grips.

so that's approx 246kph top speed? I was pulling 200kph (125mph) in 4th so thought fully pegged it may have more? I won't be trying it but keen to hear of others that have.

IMHO on the two Cobras, the power pro hands down. My bike is a 2011 as well and I also have the extended warranty. Mods first then the warranty.

Did you use the "search" feature on the site? (saw this post after reading that thread complaining about us not using the search feature)

Somewhere around there, yea. I recommend doing it only once you're completely comfortable with the bike...definitely need to do it at least once!
