Smile New (used) bike finally came in...

    Ok,

My 109 finally came in yesterday. It looks great and the ride is quite different from my Speed Triple. It's not as easy to lean over, probably because that big ass rear tire. Not sure which I love more just yet. The Suzuki sounds great and have to say it was a little intimidating at first. I had some time to get to know her yesterday on a short ride and found out it can be a tame ride but can also be pretty angry at the same time.

This bike was previously owned by a member of this forum. He is responsible for all the amazing custom work. At this point I honest don’t know what else I could do to the bike to put my own touches to the bike. I feel like I’m lucky to have won the bid on this bike...

I do however has some concerns that I’ll post in the “how to” section but I’ll just throw them out there now:
    • High beams do not work at all. Lights simply turn off when i flip on the Hi beams
    • there is also an easily heard hum (notice when bike is off only) when low beams are on but goes away when Hi beams are turned on, even thought the lights are not working
    • rear tire may be too FAT for its own good. With two rider on the bike i hear rubbing even when not in motion. I wonder if a thinner tire would solve this problem. Maybe a 280-290. I’m sure they make that size but not 100%.
    • Swing arm/shaft appears to be cut to fit the size of the tire. Is this normal?

    Plus side:
    • Looks freakin’ sick...in my opinion
    • sounds great...burned my boot heal yesterday on the pipe
    • has LED lights placed throughout the bike that I wasn’t expecting
    • paint job is cool

You may have to check out the pics in my album to see them. I’m still trying to figure out how to do things on this site. I opened a photobucket account but had problems with that. Here is the link, hope it works.

the no high beam.... might just be out, I say pick up another HID set and throw it in, easy plug and play.. Low beam will be HID and High beam will be standard head light...

on the 300.... its a metzler so I am sure its rubbing on the inner fender.. You can go to an AVON 300 and it will fit the inner fender better and u wont get as much rub... Might need air ride or standard bones..

Dont think the swing arm is cut to fit the 300 ... its an aftermarket swing arm (same one as I run) ..

Am sure there is a few Texas guys close by that could give you some more info if they come by and actually listen to what your concerns are...

SWEET 9 Bro!!! (here's some of your pics bro!)

There are a bunch of 9's in San Antonio, A member has a 07' white and his screen name is swatcop, he has a 300 and a aftermarket swingarm on his bike. He can help you with the info on the rear fender mod so it wont rub. His bike is awesome and if you send him a PM I think it would help you out. Hope to meet you at one of the many rides we do here in Texas, take care Craig..

He might just have a basic HID kit with just a low beam also. He could also just pick up a kit from Rob at A&R. He might even be close to him to.

    and to the fun.

Hey Chris, I got your Pm and responded before I read this post. Awesome looking paint job. I gave you my phone #210-559-0672. Let's ride when I get mine back together.. Also, the Avon 300mm tire will not rub like the Metzler does. I went through 2 Metzlers before I changed to the Avon. That solved the rubbing problem.
