Default What is this part on the m109r called?

I laid my bike down 2 weeks ago when the truck in front of me braked so hard I couldn't avoid hitting it, I turned left and had some leg injuries and the right side of my bike has some damage. Im looking to fix stuff here and there. What is this part called, the cover I mean, and where can I buy it for cheap?? Thanks.

Here is what I have going on now, if I buy the intake cover will that be sufficient and make it look like normal?

Also I have a dent/white marks on my gas tank, any cost effective way to make this look any better?

You will need the rubber strip also for that intake cover. Number 27.

Sending seal along with extra screws too....

Just trying to help out, a few members were nice enough to do the same for me. I know what it is like to lay the 9 down, I know how much it sucks and how hard it is to find things.

very Nice. As for the tank, I'm thinking body shop is the only answer there.

Agreed, that is awesome. For a quick cover up I'd slap a big magnetic tank bag on that tank. Just a cheap way to cover it until you get it replaced.

I have a tank bra, but I don't think it will cover that up.

My poor 9! I've been saving up forever to get it, getting the dent and scratches taken care of I assume will cost a couple hundred dollars, I think i'd be better off just getting the gas tank replaced with a new one down the road.

thats not that terribly bad,(ive seen worse and be repaired) if u know someone that does body work they could probably pull the larger dent out and just put filler over it and smooth it out and repaint tank for much less than a new tank

I agree with the others, very nice thing to do indeed and as stated, just another drop in the bucket showing what a great group of men ride the 9. Areomech - love the black pipes btw.

If that ever happened to my tank I'd have it repaired and eliminate the seam around the bottom at the same time. Then I could think of it as sort of a blessing in disguise
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

What do you mean by eliminating the seam around the bottom? Have any pictures of this done?

Look at the picture you have in your first post. Look closely at the flange you see on the bottom of the tank, right over the air cleaner. It wraps all the way around the tank. You have that filled or removed so the tank is nice and round. The flange makes the tank look cheap and you don't see them on most bikes. Some call them seams, but they are a flange that is created when the tank sections are welded together.

I looked for some pictures but couldn't find any.
