    Question Spot Lights

I have been advised that I can't get a light bar for my C109RT in Australia because Suzuki have issues with the current drain from the spot lights and have stopped providing them for this reason. However, I have seen lights mounted on engine guards and I think they would work. My question is - has anyone experienced any issues with their electrics after fitting spot lights?

I had the Suzuki Driving Light Bar on my C109RT for quite a while and then it all of a sudden started blowing the "Aux" fuse. There's a white plug in the headlight bucket that driving lights plug in to. I didn't follow the wires, but I guess they go to the "Aux" fuse. I eventually had to remove them, because I could
    not solve the problem.

The C109RT in Canada came with the engine guards and the light bar on the stock RT model.
The C109 was not imported into North America after the 2010 model.

But there should be no issue with the wiring. You can always replace bulbs with LED's and the load will be much less.

got them off ebay for $16, and then just screwed them onto the chrome fixture, wired them through to a common earth and then onto the Hi beam trip wire, they don't throw a lot of light forward but they light up the road to the sides quite nicely.

Thanks BigDave79. That is just what I want. I have orderd the lights from e-bay and if they fit, considering I have a full wind shield, that is exactly what i will do.

I have the spots stock on my c109rt.. no issues last year, but this year I guess my battery was weak, and I started having issues with needing to boost the bike.

I ended up getting a new battery... LED spots are tempting... just the cost is an issue.

Is that the suzuki lightbar? I one on my C for over a year, when it all of a sudden quit working, because for some reason it started blowing the "aux/options" fuse which is on the side of the fuse box under the seat. I could probably wire them directly to the battery through a switch, which I may do that.

No it's a Custom World Light kit and I wired it directly to the battery with fuse and relay and on/off switch mounted on the inside of the nacelle.

yea, I think I'm gonna test mine by connecting it to the battery before I re-install it. I miss it. It makes my bike look so much better.

    Default Job Done

Thanks for the ideas. I picked up a pair of 55watt spots from e-bay slipped an auto electrician mate a slab of beer and this is the result. They run through a relay located in the back of the head light and by local law they must operate through the hi-beam switch.

Nice!! My bike is two-tone too. Blue and White with red pinstripe separating the two. What exhaust do you have? I wanted a radius exhaust for mine, but I couldn't find one when I was looking for an exhaust.

Your right, I couldn't find anything off the rack that I thought would do the job, so I found a team in Brisbane that specialise in custom manufacturing systems. The pipes were one thing but then I needed to fit a Power Converter, because of the drastic change and then a Dyno Tune. It all added up to a bit (almost $2k) but it was worth it.

That's a bit out of my price range. That's why I also want to get an "M", because of all the aftermarket parts available for it.

Who rides at night - I just wanted something to ensure the idiots see me when I flash them when they cut me off. Air horns might be next to ensure they also hear me

    Cool New LED Lights

These new ones arrived last night, They are smaller and sit a bit lower and I think I like them better than the old ones. I will see how they work tonight.Click image for larger version.
