Default What psi for Metz 160?

If tried the search function and wasnt able to find this specific info. If I remember right the stock tire was 38 psi. The side wall on the 160 reads like its load bearing capability is rated at 50 psi cold. I've got mine at 40 right now and thought it felt a little mushy, but it may be all in my head. What are you guys filling yours to? Thanks.

I do 44 rear metz260 and 42 for the 160 on the front as stated above. Some do a little more some a little less but this seems to be the generally accepted and most widely used pressure.

If the side wall says 50 I would run it for starters and go from there. Its a large tire on that rim and if you have to dance on the front tire to save your butt it could collapse being under on air.

Just throwing out some safety matters.

Filled mine to the recommended 50psi day before I left for Sturgis. Put smart cap on. 10 days and 3800 miles later, from Louisiana and back, the front end never felt better. Smart cap not yet blinking. However, cap on rear started blinking the day after my return.

I maintain my 160 at about 40 psi. It seems about right for road grip, comfort and tire wear for this bike. And I promise you, you'll not lose your bead in evasive manuevering at this pressure.....and I'd rather be at 40 than at 50 psi in an emergency situation with any sand or gravel on the road.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
