In January I ordered up some Repeat Offenders from BMS. I always liked the look of them, thought they would go well with a swingarm for a 300 rear tire and I also loved how it sounds. Anyway, after a month with no pipes and no word I decided to call them to see what's up. I guess they've had problems with the shop that actually makes these pipes and we're thinking about making them in house. Every month I'd call BMS on or around the 1st for an update. Finally, they shipped out on July 6th. When I got them I noticed that the welds appear to be cracked or not completely welded. I sent BMS this E-Mail and pics:
I've got a problem with my Repeat Offenders for my M109R. While unpacking them, before unwrapping them from the bubble wrap, I noticed that one of the welds appears to be cracked or not completely welded. I've attached a couple pics that should be high definition for you guys. I'm not sure if you'd like me to completely unwrap them and check the other welds or if you'd like me to just send them back for an exchange.
Pete
I promptly received this in return:
Hi Pete,
The welds on the exhaust are ok. The reason that you see some of those edges are due to the step up from one pipe to the other. If the weld to meet one pipe to the other were to be completely ground down, then the pipe would be very weak at the joint. I assure you that you will not have any problems with it.

Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed. I'm debating between trying to take this further with BMS or just having a friend of mine, whose a professional welder, lay some welds over their **** work and get it re-chromed. What do you guys think?
