    Default Transmission problems

Has anyone had trouble with second gear popping out? I'm only at 35,000 miles. I took it in and they told me it's covered under warranty but they will need it for 5 to 6 weeks. So I'll bring it back in the fall. I'll just baby her for the rest of the riding season.

    A week to sit there
A week to tear it apart
2 weeks to go back and forth with Suzuki about getting it fixed
A week and a half waiting on parts
Half week to put it back together and return the home.

So true....The M's have this issue. I thought the transmissions were different, but I was corrected in a different post which means the C is probably prone also. Reading about it makes me think there should be a recall, but so far, there have not been enough complaints made to the right people.

I had this issue and my linkage had come slightly loose, tightened it up 1000 kms ago no issues.

    Default scratch that

Stuck in second gear on the way to a rally, pulled over to side of road, played with clutch till it shifted, then after that 2nd is brutal, can't even use it at all. Pops out and scares the hell out of you, Contacting zuk tomorrow although I know them will do nothing as I have an 08 with 40k kms. Got the service manual, ad have a great friend who is a master mechanic going to start tearing it down soon. Also, have to make a couple calls to R & D and see if all the parts they make for m109 trannies can work with the c109.

RideNow has had mine for second gear slipping since August 1st. Just got the call today that the warranty company won't cover it - calling it "normal wear and tear"

I first complained at 30k, then took it in again at 33k miles because it was messed up so much.

    Very frustrated right now.

$700 to get it from ridenow as-is and find a way to fix it myself (when i took it in they said it should be awarranty repair, but $700 for the tear down "just in case")
$4k to have them fix it

or just leave it there and let the loan company repo it.

How does anyone convince them to ccover it under warranty? should factory warranty cover this, or just 3rd party?

Wow, someone is living way large at $4k. Most dealers are a grand less. Wished you lived closer, I could save you some good money over them.

I've had no problems with mine yet. Warranty work always takes 3 times as long as Cash$$ work at any stealership. That's why my bike never goes to the dealer. I do need to adjust my heel/toe shifter. I think I've got the heel part set just a little to low.

RideNow is shady as hell too. I quit going there for parts when they start jacking up the price you pay for picking it up in the store vs what their online prices show (almost twice as much). Too many bad stories about them to ever consider buying a bike from them. Seems like 700 is steep just for pulling the engine and cracking the case.

Looks like they're quoting $1386 for labor total (12.6 hours, so $110/hr), and $2629.66 for parts. I found all the OEM parts on http://www.cheapcycleparts.com for $1820 shipped (and they confirmed they were all available).

Still, the things is completely broken down, and I don't have a clue how to re-assemble it all. I'm on hold with RPMOne... if they still won't pay I may order the parts and bring them in and negotiate the per hour rate as well as possible.

After this, RideNow and RPMOne have lost a customer for life

you could put it back together with all the old parts and push it over a bank ,set it on fire ,say it was stolen claim insurance ,just a thought . feeling for you mate would hate it to happen to me if you decide to fix it i hope it is not to costly

I road my bike home last Saturday and she's all fixed. I had her at one shop (Treads and Sleds) for 3 months and they never even started on her. Then they told me they wouldn't start on her till March and I should be happy because they would keep my bike free for the winter. I was pissed so I took my C to another shop. This one had her less then 2 week and then they had my bike ready for me. After the shop had her all apart and found the problem, they called Suzuki for the fix and approval on the warranty. Village motor sports told me Suzuki is well aware of this problem. It's vary common for C's or M's over 30,000 miles. For me, 35,000. Although second gear was in bad shape, the fix was to replace second and third gear with the gears from the M's 2011 and up.

I have her home and healthy again. With the temp today at 6 and the wind chill at -15 it may be a bit before I get out again. But this was all at no charge...
