Nice write up on your travels. Been to all those places in the UP and a few times in the winter on sleds. Brockway Mountain is one cold, dreary, depressing place in the winter time. At least every time I have been there. Delivered for SYSCO up there for years, if they serve food, I was probably there.

Big Bay is an interesting place to visit. Henry Ford pretty much owned the town and had some wood processing plants there for materials used in building the Model T, and making bowling pins. Thunder Bay Inn is a great place to eat, built by Henry for all his friends. They also have a few rooms there, and is supposed to be haunted, so if you are into that kind of thing maybe a place to stay? I never have.

The Ambassador in Houghton has some great pizza too.A couple of blocks east of the bridge on the north side of the street. Lots of college kids from the Tech, but bikers too. Everybody gets along up there.

I love the UP. Black Flies can be vicious up there at some times late in the summer.

Ben, I'm glad you guys made it home safe. Sounds like the whole trip was one big adventure.

Your fuel issue sounds just like my C109 was doing the first year I was down to the MAM meet. It was the fuel filter. That reminds me , I need to get another spare ordered since I put my spare in at the premeet this year.

Believe me Marco. I wasn't planning on going airborne in the corner like that. I checked it out good while I had it on the hoist changing oil tonight.
I think that stuff you saw flying afterwards was blacktop that was dug out by the kickstand bracket. I even had scrapes on the lower frame tube in front of the rear swingarm.

I'm free Saturday, ya want to meet in Ludington for lunch? You could ride the ferry over Friday, we'll meet Saturday for lunch, then you could ride up the coast and have dinner at the Legs Inn. You can do the part of the trip you missed. I have a nice big tent and air mattresses, you and Shell could sleep in. It sleeps about 6 so you could bring Kirk and JD too.

Here is a link to the video of the ride to Copper Harbor. It gets shaky at times. If I kept my bike in 4th I was out of my power band to pull out of the curves and if I was in 3rd my rpms were just right but it makes for a shaky video. I have no idea how to imbed a video but this link will take you to the vid.

Right at the beginning there is a group of people on the side of the road, JD scared the chit out of them when his floorboards contacted the ground.

We'll have to make that trip soon. We have friends from Decatur Illinois coming for the weekend so we'll be entertaining here in MN. Thanks for the invite!

Great video Marco! Especially like the "pay attention here" and the stop animation going through Eagle Harbor! It was as I remembered . Too bad that 41 was under construction, that road would have been awesome to tear up too. Hwy 26 (Dunes Drive) was a good ride though. Hwy 41 is more like a mini H58 when it's in shape. I'll bet that in a few weeks it will be awesome with the new pavement.

That's to Funny. Barb and I were thinking about meeting up with Scott Saturday for dinner. Maybe we could find some place in the middle for everyone. Great video Marco Can't wait to see the tunnel of trees video. Did you at least get JD in flight?

I do know when it happens but you can't really tell on the video. I was riding behind Ben and I left distance between us. I really don't like that road for going fast. Besides that I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. From there on in I took it at 45ish. I'll load that video tonight.

Here's the Tunnel of Trees video. At minute 2:57 is about where JD goes airborne but you can't see it that good in the video. You'll see a little bouncing around and brake lights but that's about all. At the beginning I slowed down to turn my camera on and when I looked back up the guys were gone, I had to play catch up. After the flight I decided to lay back. I've had a few near death experiences on this road. This is the first place I got to check my ABS in a panic stop. I was doing a multiple car pass and someone turned out from a side street right towards me. It would have been a high speed head on but the ABS did their job and saved my bacon. I almost crashed my 9 twice back here, once because of sand in a curve and once because a turn tightened up and I couldn't possibly lean any further. Anyhow here is the link to the video, enjoy.

What a great trip. I'm really glad that I got a chance to meet everyone and look forward to the next chance to ride together again!

Here are some pics that I took.

Is 10:30 a.m. too early for free beer? I didn't think so either, it's FREE BEER!

    Really felt like a swim.

. The cool thing about the Legs Inn is this guy showed up and bought us all dinner.
    oops I mean this guy.

It was a good time at the inn but we had to part ways with Russel, he had a certain meeting to give a

lesson. We headed up to our hotel in Mackinac for the night. It was a straight ride there and I can't add anything to what Jeremy has already written. There were some good conversations flying around though. Around 1:30 we put the fire out and called it a night.[/QUOTE]

I never noticed the resemblance until you brought it to my attention. LMAO
And the lessons are going very well

LMAO I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time! I know about tires being spendy. My Dakota R/T likes to eat the tires like candy. Just giving you some St is all. Thanks again for the Dinner and the after show!

I think you did brake torque, I told the guys you had a straight 6 in that Vette and the the engine sound was coming from your stereo system. We know how you like to modify things so I'm sure you have the washer fluid pump full of bleach and a hose running back to your tires.
As far as Lord Farkuard goes, someone else pointed that out to me but I can't give him up. He can come clean if he chooses to.

Hey Ben and Marco, my boy could teach you a thing or two about plugging a tire.
I just picked up a finishing nail yesterday and had to plug a slow leak and had my best helper working on it. After he checked for leaks I took it for a spin and all is well.
